Patrick Mahomes’ mom, Randi, says daughter in-law Brittany Mahomes’ friendship with Taylor Swift is the real deal.
The Mahomes family matriarch chatted with Pvnew at the NFL honors on Thursday about her first impressions of the pop star, 34, and how great it’s been for Brittany, 28, to have a new friend this season.
“It’s hard at this point to meet people that are true and real and they kind of found each other,” she gushed. “They really, I mean, talk all the time and they’re like, really good friends.”
The two WAGs hit it off at a post-game party last year and have since become very close, with Brittany often joining Swift for fun nights out in New York City. They also have watched nearly every Kansas City Chiefs game together this season.
Randi, who stunned in a black sequin suit, added that it’s been cool to see the pair’s “bond growing” over the past couple months — despite some of the outside noise.
The mother of three also slammed some NFL fans — and even a few sports commentators — who have been complaining about Swift’s presence at the Chiefs’ games, noting that it is “bringing families together.”
“It’s so exciting! I love it because, you know, I hear all the bad noise about it and I’m like this is bringing fathers together with their daughters, like I see that at games,” she explained.
“I meet so many little girls at the games with their dads.” she continued. “And it’s like, this is bringing families together when Sundays would be dad’s day to watch football or go to the game and now they are at the airport bringing their little girls or their kids with them.”
While Randi hasn’t spent as much time around the “Cruel Summer” singer as her daughter-in-law, she did get the chance to meet the 14-time Grammy winner back in October.

When asked about her first impressions of Swift, Randi joked that she had no idea the five-foot-eleven singer was so tall.
“I wasn’t expecting her to be so tall!” she told us. “I wasn’t expecting to go up to her and go, ‘Wow, you’re so tall!'”
Despite Swift being a global icon, Randi says her interaction with her was relatively normal.
The two met at the Chiefs’ game against the Los Angeles Chargers a few months ago and got to know one another over a bite of food in their VIP suite.
“We’re talking, getting some food and I was like, ‘We gotta go back! We gotta get back in our seats,” she explained noting that the superstitious group likes to stay in the same seats during the game to bring the team good luck.
“And so we’ve had fun with that,” she added, noting that they also bonded over their “love of the Chiefs.”
Randi has been close to her boyfriend Travis Kelce — who is one of Patrick’s best friends — for years.
Despite skyrocketing to global stardom since dating Swift, Randi says she hasn’t “seen change in” Kelce at all.
“He is the funnest guy,” she said of the two-time Super Bowl champion. “He is still like the coolest dude.”
“It’s made it a lot of fun,” she continued. “It’s made it interesting and exciting, even for me!”
Kelce and Patrick will have the chance to win their third Super Bowl on Sunday as they face off against the San Francisco 49ers at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
While Randi teased that she will be sitting in a suite with their “immediate family,” it’s unclear whether Swift will have a VIP box of her own or will be watching the game alongside Brittany, as per usual.
