Is there a stranger thing?
Millie Bobby Brown is facing criticism from fans after getting engaged to Jake Bongiovi at such a young age.
The “Stranger Things” star, 19, announced on Instagram Tuesday that Bongiovi, 20, had popped the question after two years of dating, but many of her nearly 63 million followers were less than thrilled about the news.
“What? She’s eleven,” one punster wrote in the comments section of Brown’s post, referring to her character’s name in the Netflix show.
“Isn’t she only 19 years old?” a second person questioned.
“Omgg too young,” a third commented.
“Child marriage should not be happening,” another agreed.
“Divorce coming in 1.5 years,” a cynic added.
“Guy is trying hard to secure the bag,” another wrote, referring to Brown’s big paycheck for her breakout role in “Stranger Things.”
“NO F–KING WAY,” a shocked fan commented.
But others were supportive of the pair taking the next big step in their relationship and pointed out that they are two adults in love.
“I thinks it’s very interesting how many people who don’t know Millie Bobby Brown privately AT ALL think it’s any of their business wether or not a decision she made is right or wrong LOL,” one defender commented. “I’m happy for her if she’s happy and it’s
NON [sic] of anyone else’s business to say what they should or shouldn’t be doing.”
“For everyone upset about her being engaged, it’s not her saying she’s getting married RIGHT AWAY, it just signifies that it’ll happen and they made their love for each other official. Just be happy for her at the end of the day it’s her life,” a second person wrote.
“She’s technically an adult and can make her own choices. I got engaged at 19 and was married at 19 and now almost 10 years later we’re still together, would I be okay with my kids getting married at 19? Eh probably not but still congrats to them!” someone agreed.
“shut up to all the people who r saying shes too young shes literally living the life she wants bro dont forget that this isnt ur life and u dont make decisions for her
