She’s a pretty little thing.
Naomi Campbell’s fast fashion Pretty Little Thing collaboration launches September 5 — and the iconic supermodel heated things up in an array of sizzling outfits as she gave fans a sneak peek at her designs Wednesday.
Campbell, 53 — who covered the September issue of Vogue alongside fellow OG supermodels Linda Evangelista, Cindy Crawford and Christy Turlington — rocks everything from a bodycon white dress to sexy club looks for the collection, which she created in conjunction with emerging designers Victor Anate and Edvin Thompson.
The catwalk star looks ready to dance the night away in pieces including a plunging black minidress and a black croc-patterned faux leather halter style, switching things up with a disco ball-like sequined rose gold frock that calls to mind the Gianni Versace metal minis from the nineties that Campbell helped popularize.
While some of the designs are of the edgier variety — like a sheer black catsuit worn under a long vegan leather trench coat — others, including a white maxi with a subtle cutout, could be worn for an elegant night out.
Campbell — who secretly welcomed her second baby in June — spoke with Women’s Wear Daily about the line on Wednesday, admitting that she knew collaborating with Pretty Little Thing would cause backlash, as eco-conscious Kourtney Kardashian experienced when she released her line with competitor Boohoo last year.
“As a changemaker, I thought this was something that was a good thing to do,” she told the mag. “I know that it’s fast fashion, and that people have their criticism. I’m not denying them. But as a changemaker, I felt this was a great way to effect change in the industry in getting my emerging designers recognized and seeing them on a global platform.”
Indeed, the runway star got plenty of heat in the comments of her Instagram post announcing the collab, with one fan writing, “This is honestly awful. She could have had ANY BRAND IN THE WORLD. Respect is lost.”
“Someone’s career just went to s**ttttt,” another wrote, while a third Instagram user added, “Out of all the brands you could have collaborated with..
