Adam Driver looks barely recognizable as Italian sports car entrepreneur Enzo Ferrari.
In the first teaser for the upcoming “Ferrari” film, which was released Wednesday, the 39-year-old actor sported slicked-back gray hair and sunglasses.
His face also appeared to have been aged with wrinkles and fine lines as he portrayed the race car driver in the later years of his life.
“If you get into one of my cars, you get in to win,” Driver said in the dramatic clip, while sporting a three-piece suit and tie.
Set in 1957, the film follows Ferrari as he races across Italy in the infamous Mille Miglia race while struggling with the death of his son and his business’ looming bankruptcy.
Penelope Cruz portrays Ferrari’s wife, Laura Ferrari, while Shailene Woodley stars as his mistress, Lina Lardi.
Meanwhile, ”Grey’s Anatomy” alum Patrick Dempsey, who is a race car driver in real life, plays Ferrari’s famous rival, Piero Taruffi.
Italian film producer Andrea Iervolino told Top Gear the film resembled a James Bond movie.
“Adam Driver plays Enzo and he’s done an amazing job,” Iervolino said of the “House of Gucci” actor.
“The way the movie has been shot is amazing. It takes place in the ’60s and ’70s, and when you see the car racing and the way it’s been shot, it looks like a James Bond movie.”
This isn’t the first time movie-goers have seen Driver in the racing world: he recently appeared at the 2023 Indy 500 and starred in the 2017 comedy “Logan Lucky,” set during the NASCAR Coca-Cola 600.
“Ferrari” is set to debut at the 2023 Venice Film Festival, where Driver will walk the red carpet amid Hollywood’s ongoing strike, the festival confirmed earlier this month.
However, he won’t be crossing the picket line due to an interim waiver granted by the Writer’s Guild of America (WGA) allowing him to promote the flick.
A bevy of other A-listers, including George Clooney, Jessica Chastain and Mads Mikkelsen, were also approved to attend the iconic festival to promote their respective projects.
Per PvNew, a select list of films were able to obtain SAG-AFTRA interim waivers because they are independent productions that were not produced by AMPTP members.
