Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson are “in denial” about one of their kids seeing them having sex.
The fashion designer admitted to “Access Hollywood” on Friday that while she and her husband were once walked in on, “it’s not really been something that [they’ve] talked about” since.
“Our kids are so old,” the actress explained. “It’s, like, wow, they’re gonna walk in on hanky panky time. So what do we do, how do we do this? Where do we go?”
Although Simpson, 43, did not say which child witnessed their intimate moment, she admitted to treating daughter Maxwell, 11, “way too much … like a best friend.”
She went on to clarify that her 10-year-old son, Ace, did not see them.
“Luckily, he didn’t walk in,” Simpson explained. “I think he would stand there and be like, ‘What are you doing?’ He would literally talk to us.”
The “Open Book” author, who is also the mother of daughter Birdie, 4, gushed to the outlet about how she and Johnson, 43, “keep the romance there even with three kids on top of” them after nearly one decade of marriage.
“He’ll leave me little notes because he’ll wake up earlier than me,” she said. “He’ll leave me little letters.
“There’s a lot of things that make me like, ‘I can’t wait to get my hands on him later,'” the “Employee of the Month” star continued. “I think you have to have those little things as a couple that are just between you two.”
Simpson married the retired NFL player in July 2014 and has given glimpses into their sex life over the years.
In February 2020, the singer called Johnson her “sexual shaman,” telling Extra that they “connect mind, body and soul” in a “very spiritual experience.”
She joked about how often they “practiced” making babies in an interview with Entertainment Tonight two years prior.
The couple welcomed Maxwell in 2012, followed by Ace the following year. The little ones served as the flower girl and ring bearer in their parents’ California wedding.
Two years after Simpson told Ellen DeGeneres in 2017 that she was done having children, Birdie joined the family — but the songwriter’s “hard” pregnancy has kept her from hoping for baby No. 4.
“I have no baby fever,” she shared with Us Weekly in April 2022. “That was it. I can’t do that again.”
