We’re gonna need Kanye West to kill the hypocrisy; this is an aristocracy.
The controversial rapper — who just made headlines for exposing his bare butt while riding a water taxi in Italy with his “wife,” Bianca Censori — once shamed his first wife, Kim Kardashian, for dressing “too sexy.”
In a tense moment ahead of the 2019 Met Gala, which was captured by “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” cameras, West openly disapproved of Kardashian’s outfit choice: a custom corset-style minidress made of silk organza and dripping crystals by French designer Thierry Mugler.
Sitting in on the reality star’s final fitting before the big event — whose theme was “Camp: Notes on Fashion” — the Grammy winner, 46, said, “The corset, underwear, all of that vibe — I just feel like I went through this transition from being a rapper, looking at all these girls, and then looking at my wife, like, ‘Oh, my girl needs to be just like these other girls, showing her body off, showing this, showing that.’
“I didn’t realize that that was affecting my soul and my spirit as someone that’s married and loved, the father of what’s about to be four kids,” he went on. “A corset is a form of underwear. It’s hot. It’s like, it’s hot for who, though?”
An exacerbated Kardashian, 42, told West — who also criticized Skims’ “overly sexualized” ads in October 2022 — that his last-minute “negative energy” was giving her “really bad anxiety,” to which he replied, “You are my wife, and it affects me when pictures are too sexy.”
The Skims founder — who shares daughters North, 10, and Chicago, 5, as well as sons Saint, 7, and Psalm, 4, with her third husband — then reminded him that he was the one who “built [her] up to be this sexy person and have confidence.”
She added, “Just because you’re on your journey and you’re on a transformation doesn’t mean that I’m in the same spot with you.”
Though West stormed out in silence, he still showed up the next day to accompany Kardashian down the famed pink carpet outside New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art.
The “Flashing Lights” hitmaker had done a 180 in just three years.
In July 2016, he told Harper’s Bazaar in an interview alongside his then-spouse and muse — who had appeared unclothed in his 2013 music video for “Bound 2” — that he was a big fan of her naked photos.
“I love her nude selfies. Like, I love the ones from the side, the back ones and the front. I just love seeing her naked; I love nudity. And I love beautiful shapes,” he gushed at the time.
West likened the “Selfish” author’s body to “a modern version” of a Renaissance painting, adding, “I think it’s important for Kim to have her figure. To not show it would be like Adele not singing.”
Fast-forward to Sunday’s cheeky boat ride in Venice — the musician sailed the city’s canals with his pants partially down despite having a driver and an unidentified female friend aboard, as well as a plethora of onlookers in neighboring vessels.
West was joined by Censori, who strangely opted for a modest trench coat instead of her go-to garb: sheer undergarments.
The former billionaire “married” his Yeezy employee, 28, in January — just two months after his divorce from Kardashian was finalized — in a non-legally binding wedding ceremony.
