Travis Kelce would love to get the chance to kiss and tell.
Years before dating buzz between the Kansas City Chiefs tight end and Taylor Swift began swirling, Kelce once admitted he wanted to kiss the famous pop star.
During a 2016 interview with AfterBuzz TV, which resurfaced this week amid the ongoing romance rumors, Kelce played a game of “Kiss, Marry, Kill,” in which he was asked to put Ariana Grande, Katy Perry and Swift into each category.
“Damn, that’s messed up. I don’t want to kill any of them,” he initially responded, but when pushed to continue the game, he finally said, “Kill is Ariana. Sorry, love you, but you’re gone. And then Taylor Swift would be the kiss. And what’s the last one? Katy Perry? Yeah, Katy Perry would be the marry.”
He was also asked about other celebrity trios like Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian and Kylie Jenner; Beyonce, Jennifer Lawrence and Sofia Vergara, as well as Gisele Bündchen, Jessie James Decker and Kristin Cavallari, but it was what he said about Swift that’s garnered the most attention.
Earlier this month, it was reported that Kelce, 33, and Swift, also 33, had been spending time together after he attended her record-breaking Eras Tour earlier this summer.
After his brother, Jason Kelce, 35, jokingly confirmed the romance during an interview on the “WIP Morning Show” Wednesday, Travis addressed the speculation during Thursday’s episode of The Pat McAfee podcast, saying he’s been in contact with Swift.
“I told her, ‘You know, I’ve seen you rock the stage in Arrowhead [Stadium], you might have to come see me rock the stage in Arrowhead and see which one’s a little more lit,'” he shared. “So, we’ll see what happens in the near future.”
He added that he thinks “it’s hilarious how much traction” the romance speculation surrounding him and Swift has gotten.
It feels like a “game of telephone” between the pair, he noted, while further admitting that it’s not something he’s bothered by. “It’s life, baby,” he quipped.
Whether a full-fledged romance actually comes to fruition, that’s up to Swift.
“I threw it out there. I threw the ball in her court,” Travis said.
Fortunately for Travis, a source told the Messenger Wednesday that Swift thinks Travis is “very charming.”
The insider said, “She thinks he is very charming, and they have been texting this last week.” Travis and Swift are not dating at the moment, but they’re “seeing where things go,” the source added.
Meanwhile, Swift — who has been busy comforting Sophie Turner amid her tumultuous divorce from Joe Jonas — has yet to comment on the romance rumors.
