Jessica Simpson is down south for the summer.
The fashion designer temporarily moved her family from Hollywood to Tennessee and has been “so happy” with the decision.
“Even my kids are like, ‘You laugh the whole time. You’re so happy,'” she told E! News Monday.
“It’s because I’m not on guard. I’m with a lot of like-minded people. It’s not about the celebrities — it’s really about the music and the heart and the conversation.”
Simpson, 43, went on to share the “hilarious experience” of renting with her husband, Eric Johnson, and their three kids, Maxwell, 11, Ace, 10, and Birdie, 4.
“I used thumb tacks to hang these $40 curtains up so I wouldn’t wake up with the sun,” she said.
The singer and actress also “put together a TV with a butter knife,” saying, “I was looking for a screwdriver, but I went to the wrong place. I went to Walgreens. I got lip gloss instead.”
Last month, Simpson told Bustle that she was considering a move to Tennessee to reboot her music career.
She made headlines for teasing a mysterious U-Haul trip via Instagram, joking in the caption that “everyone says [she] always overpack[s]” for trips.
The “Dukes of Hazzard” star even gave a glimpse of the pharmacy trip where she purchased lip gloss instead of tools.
