Justin Timberlake is considering a tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey amid renewed drama with his ex-girlfriend Britney Spears, according to a new report.
“Justin is really not happy how things have gone down,” a source told the Sun (via Daily Mail). “He wanted [his new] music to speak for itself, but that’s clearly not happening.”
Last week, the former *NSYNC member, 43, found himself in hot water when he seemingly dissed Spears, 42, during a concert promoting his forthcoming album.
“His comments onstage have only added fuel to the fire,” the insider added. “The idea of a sit-down chat with someone like Oprah Winfrey was floated months ago and is now back on the cards.”
A rep for Timberlake did not respond to Pvnew’s request for comment.
During a “One Night Only” gig at Irving Plaza in New York City on Jan. 31, Timberlake’s 43rd birthday, he reignited a smoldering fire.
“I’d like to take this opportunity to apologize to absolutely f–king nobody,” he said before singing “Cry Me a River,” his 2002 song inspired by Spears cheating on him during their three-year relationship.
Two days earlier, the pop princess had graciously apologized to anyone she “offended” with her memoir, “The Woman in Me,” in which she wrote extensively about her romance with Timberlake.
“I am deeply sorry,” she shared in a now-deleted Instagram post.
Spears then addressed her ex directly, writing, “‘I also wanted to say I am in love with Justin Timberlake’s new song ‘Selfish’.
“It is soo good and how come every time I see Justin and Jimmy [Fallon] together I laugh so hard???'” she added following the former boy bander’s appearance on “The Tonight Show.”
After Timberlake’s faux apology during his concert, though, Spears quickly hit back.
“Someone told me someone was talking s–t about me on the streets !!!” she wrote on Instagram, alongside a stock image of a basketball hoop.
“Do you want to bring it to the court or will you go home crying to your mom like you did last time ??? I’m not sorry !!!”
The “Trolls” star came under fire in October 2023 after Spears revealed in her bombshell book that she had undergone an abortion two decades prior because Timberlake “definitely wasn’t happy about the pregnancy” and “didn’t want to be a father.”
Pvnew exclusively reported that Timberlake is “seething” over the negative press he has received and irked that it is “overshadowing his new music.”
“Justin had hoped the backlash [from Spears’ memoir] would’ve blown over by now so that he could focus on his new album, which he’s very excited about, but every day is something new,” our insider added.
Spears’ loyal fans have already waged war on Timberlake.
After the “SexyBack” crooner released “Selfish,” his ex’s supporters successfully campaigned to get Spears’ 2011 song of the same name to No. 1 on iTunes.
Despite all the drama, Timberlake has at least one supporter firmly in his camp: his wife, Jessica Biel.
“I ALWAYS got you,” the “7th Heaven” alum, 41, wrote on Instagram on her husband’s 43rd birthday alongside a montage of photos and videos.
The couple, who married in 2012, share two sons: Silas, 8, and Phineas, 3.
Meanwhile, Spears is currently going through a divorce from Sam Asghari. She shares two sons of her own — Sean Preston, 18, and Jayden James, 17 — with her ex-husband Kevin Federline.
