Selena Gomez is setting the record straight.
After the pop star released her new song, “Single Soon,” last Friday, fans began theorizing which ex may have inspired its lyrics.
However, Gomez denied speculation that the breakup track is about her former boyfriend The Weeknd.
“Couldn’t be more false,” she commented on an Instagram post Sunday that suggested the “Idol” co-creator and actor was her muse.
Throughout the tune, the “only Murders in the Building” star, 31, sings about leaving a relationship — and notably mentions “the weekend.”
“Should I do it on the phone? / Should I leave a little note in the pocket of his coat? (Yeah) / Maybe I’ll just disappear / I don’t wanna see a tear / And the weekend’s almost here,” she warbles.
Gomez and The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, dated for 10 months in 2017.
At the time of their split, a source told Pvnew that the “Blinding Lights” singer, now 33, was focusing on his career rather than his dating life.
“Everyone wants love, but his focus is the business,” the insider said.
“He’s building a legacy. He’s young and successful with money and can have any girl he wants. Their relationship kind of came out of nowhere.”
A second source added, “He’s a supreme player. He hits the scene hard. [Selena’s] more subtle with it.”
The Weeknd was later linked to Angelina Jolie, DJ Chantel Jeffries and influencer Simi Khadra.
Meanwhile, Gomez, who is currently single, most famously dated Justin Bieber off and on from 2010 to 2018.
The “Wizards of Waverly Place” star was photographed getting flirty with Italian film producer Andrea Iervolino last summer. However, she never publicly addressed whether they dated.
Earlier this year, Gomez was rumored to be dating One Direction alum Zayn Malik before going out with The Chainsmokers DJ Drew Taggart.
But she confirmed her relationship status in a hilarious TikTok video in June.
“I’m single!” Gomez screamed while sitting on the sidelines of a soccer match.
“I’m just a little high maintenance, but I’ll love you so much.”
