Derek Hough and Hayley Erbert are officially husband and wife!
The dancing duo said “I do” in a romantic ceremony held in a redwood forest in Monterey County, Calif., on Saturday.
“When we were thinking about location we asked ourselves, ‘What’s important to us?’ Nature was the first thing,” Hough, 38, explained to People.
“We want to be around trees and plants and Northern California kind of spoke out to us. We just want people to experience this place that we love, this nature, but also, it just feels incredibly romantic.”
Erbert, 28, pulled out all the stops for her wedding day look, wearing a custom satin gown designed by Georgina Chapman from Marchesa.
She styled the stunning gown with a matching veil and jewelry by Ring Concierge.
“It’s all very just classic, timeless,” said Erbert, who walked down the aisle to a special rendition of Richard Walters’ “Unconditional.”
Meanwhile, Hough looked dapper in a classic suit by Tom Ford, switching into an ensemble from Brooks Brothers for the reception.
“It’s so interesting what a small sort of piece of metal can do to your whole persona and your whole outlook on everything, where all of a sudden it’s sort of like, ‘Oh, I have this promise that I carry with me all the time,’” the “Dancing With the Stars” judge said of tying the knot.
“And to want to be a man to live up to that promise daily for that person and for yourself and for others, it’s a powerful thing. It’s a beautiful thing. So for me, I’m excited to continue to aspire to be that man each and every day for her, for our animals and for our future family.”
The nuptials were attended by 160 guests, including plenty of Hough and Erbert’s pals from “DWTS.” Hough’s sister, Julianne Hough, pro dancers Mark Ballas, Britt Stewart and Jenna Johnson, co-host Alfonso Ribeiro and alums like Amy Purdy, Shawn Johnson and Robert and Kym Herjavec were all in attendance.
Festivities kicked off Thursday at a cliffside estate in Carmel, followed by an intimate garden rehearsal dinner the following day.
“It’s one of the most breathtaking places,” Derek said of the estate. “It’s like a fairytale.”
The couple – who got engaged in June 2022 after seven years of dating – tied the knot just ahead of the Season 32 premiere of “DWTS.”
Despite how busy the two have been, the newlyweds told People they’re still finding time to embark on a honeymoon in Italy before Derek steps back into the judges’ seat with Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli
“We’ve never been. I mean, I’ve been for a competition, but that was it. We’ve never experienced it properly,” the six-time mirrorball champion explained.
“So it’s really great because it’s a place that we’re going to be able to experience together for the first time. And we’re hitting everywhere from Lake Como, Positano, Amalfi Coast, Rome, Tuscany, Florence. We’re hitting it all.”
The all-new season of “DWTS” kicks off this fall on ABC and Disney+ with “Vanderpump Rules” star Ariana Madix and “Bachelorette” star Charity Lawson both set to compete in the ballroom.
The full cast will be revealed Sept. 13 on “Good Morning America.”
