Jessie James Decker and Eric Decker were “very, very, very surprised” to find out baby No. 4 is on the way.
“It was not planned,” the pregnant star clarified to her Instagram followers in a Story Q&A on Sunday.
“As you know, I had been telling Eric it was probably time to get a vasectomy because I felt like we were done,” she explained. “But I just feel like God always has other plans. It was extremely shocking and surprising but [we are] happy excited.”
The “grateful” 35-year-old teared up, adding, “Being able to have another little baby is, like, the most incredible blessing. We are all just over the moon.”
She noted that Eric, 36, “didn’t believe” her when she told him Vivianne, 9, Eric Jr., 7, and Forrest, 5, were getting a younger sibling.
The retired NFL player thought that his wife was “playing a joke” until she “physically peed again on a stick.”
Jessie recalled, “It was shock for awhile there.”
As for their kids’ reactions, the songwriter said that the little ones found out “pretty fast” because their family is “just too tight” for secrets.
“I wanted them to understand why Mommy was gonna be so slothy and tired and not as energized as I always am,” she said.
The former reality star also hinted at when she and Eric conceived their upcoming arrival, writing that “someone really missed” her when she returned home from a trip to Italy in May.
Jessie, who is four months along, debuted her baby bump via Instagram last week.
The social media upload came seven months after she told Us Weekly about her husband’s refusal to get snipped for fear the procedure would “take his manhood away from him.”
The couple poked fun at his decision in a promotional video for Ryan Reynolds’ Aviation Gin in June.
Jessie had been publicly sharing her hopes for Eric’s vasectomy since 2021 when she claimed the former athlete had scheduled an appointment.
