Sunny Hostin shamed Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner for seemingly using their children as “pawns” amid their messy public divorce and custody battle.
The high-profile breakup was a hot topic amongst “The View” hosts on Friday, with Hostin and Joy Behar sharing their unfiltered opinions on Turner filing a lawsuit against Jonas this week.
“It’s ugly. When you have kids and you’re getting a divorce, be very careful what you do,” Behar warned. “Those kids will be scarred and remember this forever.”
Hostin agreed, saying, “It feels like they’re using [the kids] as pawns here.”
The women then began divulging their personal stories of either divorce or growing up in a divorced household.
Jonas and Turner, who have a combined net worth of $60 million, have been under extra public scrutiny since the singer shockingly filed for divorce on Sept. 5 after four years of marriage.
The 27-year-old “Game of Thrones” actress later said she found out about the divorce like everyone else did through the media.
The actress, who’s been spotted hanging out with Taylor Swift multiple times this week, made surprising claim in new court documents obtained by Pvnew Thursday.
The “Staircase” actress is suing her ex to try and have their kids return to England, as she alleges the 34-year-old singer is withholding their children’s passports so they can’t leave the US.
Jonas, however, fired back with his rep telling Pvnew in a statement that he did not “abduct” their children.
Jonas’ rep went on to say that Turner’s claims in her lawsuit go against the “amicable co-parenting setup” he believed they were working toward as recently as Sunday, when they allegedly met to discuss custody.
“Less than 24 hours later, Sophie advised that she wanted to take the children permanently to the UK. Thereafter, she demanded via this filing that Joe hand over the children’s passports so that she could take them out of the country immediately,” his rep told Pvnew.
The duo, who began dating in 2016 before tying the knot in Las Vegas three years later, allegedly agreed over Christmas 2022 that they would make her native home of England their “forever home,” according to the “Dark Phoenix” star’s court filing.
They even had plans to purchase a property in England after putting their Miami estate up for sale.
Turner claimed she and Jonas relocated to the UK in April 2023, but on his birthday on Aug. 15, they had an argument and it led to the end of their marriage “very suddenly.”
The pair welcomed daughter Willa, 3, in July 2020 and a second child, whose name they have not revealed yet, in July 2022.
