Olivia Culpo caved.
The former Miss Universe, 31, revealed on her Instagram Story Friday that she bought herself and fiancé Christian McCaffrey’s family a suite at Super Bowl LVIII after his mom, Lisa, claimed they were too expensive.
On a recent episode of Lisa’s “Your Mom” podcast, the McCaffrey matriarch told listeners that they “looked into a suite” but none of them could “afford it.”
“Not even Christian, money bags over there — nor money bags Olivia,” Lisa said.
“So, we are not in a suite. I’ll tell you that right now.”
However, after her comments went viral on social media, Culpo revealed that she was actually planning to surprise Lisa with a suite at Allegiant Stadium for her birthday, which is five days before the big game.
“Fake news!” she wrote alongside Lisa’s quote. “Happy birthday Lisa I bought you a suite.”
While it’s unclear how much Culpo paid for the VIP box, the luxury suites — which fit 32 people — were going for up to $3 million as of Thursday, a guest service rep for On Location Experiences previously told Pvnew.
However, the model also could have purchased a premium loge box, which sits eight and costs about $200,000.
On her podcast episode Thursday, Lisa explained that her son, who makes $12 million per season, was only able to secure eight tickets for their group due to the steep prices — which she attributed to the game being played in Las Vegas and the fact that Taylor Swift will be in attendance.
She also pointed out that a lot of “big corporations buy out all the suites” and then give them to clients, making it harder for actual fans to afford attending.
Culpo has grown quite close to Lisa ever since she started dating the San Francisco 49ers star, 27, in 2019.
In fact, the influencer quarantined with the McCaffrey family in 2020, spending “almost 100 days” straight together.
The former Sports Illustrated model often posts video of her and her future mother-in-law dancing together and celebrating the 49ers’ wins on TikTok.
Earlier this month, she also shared a clip of the pair getting ready for one of Christian’s playoff games together.
“Look how good Lisa looks!” Culpo said, pulling Lisa into frame.
“You look hot,” the boy mom replied, jokingly adding, “for once.”
The video ended with a clip of the two hugging and jumping up and down — which they likely hope to be doing a lot of in their suite on Feb. 11 when the 49ers face off against the Kansas City Chiefs for a chance to win the coveted Lombardi Trophy.
