Putting the tardy in the divorce party.
Kroy Biermann has filed to end his marriage to Kim Zolciak just over six weeks after the reality stars called off their respective divorce filings from May.
According to TMZ, the former NFL star, 37, filed the new paperwork Thursday in Georgia, where they live, stating that their marriage is “irretrievably broken.”
Biermann is requesting sole legal and sole physical custody of their four minor children: Kroy Jr. “KJ”, 12, Kash, 11, and twins Kaia and Kane, 9.
He is also seeking child support and alimony from the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” alum, 45, and wants exclusive use of their marital residence.
After the duo initially filed for divorce from each other after 11 years of marriage, things got ugly quickly.
Biermann claimed Zolciak was addicted to gambling and requested that she undergo psychological evaluation amid her alleged “compulsion” to spend “substantial time and marital funds on gambling and other games of chance.”
He claimed she had “financially devastated” their family and provided the court with copies of bank statements and checks that allegedly showed thousands of dollars in withdrawals.
The retired athlete added that he wanted the requested psych eval on the ex-“Housewife” to determine whether she had depression, narcissistic personality disorder and/or bipolar disorder.
Biermann insisted the kids needed protection from Zolciak because she had allegedly been “abusive” toward him with “little concern” if they were present.
In fact, the day before he filed for divorce the first time, Biermann claimed to police that Zolciak had a gambling problem and had recently lost a large sum of money.
He further alleged to cops that she had punched him in the back of the head during an altercation concerning property he was trying to liquidate to help offset some costs.
Zolciak, for her part, accused Biermann of years-long “emotional and mental abuse” and claimed he had been “continuously spread[ing] lies in an attempt to paint [her] as an unfit mother for his own gain.”
She demanded that he submit a drug test, saying she had “concerns” about the “safety” of their brood because she had allegedly witnessed him smoking marijuana.
Though the majority of the pair’s marriage was without scandal, insiders previously told Pvnew that tensions had been mounting as they dealt with financial hardships behind closed doors.
Not only was their mansion under foreclosure earlier this year, but news of their split came in tandem with reports claiming they owe the IRS more than $1 million.
In fact, sources told TMZ last week that their “steep financial troubles” were threatening to tear them apart for good.
The outlet described the twosome’s relationship as somewhat of a roller coaster, with Biermann and Zolciak being good one day and then “at each other’s throats” and having “blowups” the next.
One of the topics they’ve allegedly been fighting over is the leaked bodycam footage from when law enforcement responded to their home in May.
“They are still living together, but every day is an uphill battle,” sources told US Weekly last month. “Those close to them think the reconciliation will be short-lived.”
“There’s a lot of s–t-talking, and it’s hard to see how this will be resolved amicably,” the sources added. “They are also not seeking counseling.”
During their marriage, Biermann legally adopted Zolciak’s daughters from a previous relationship: Brielle, 26, and Ariana, 21.
