Anneliese van der Pol is accusing Ashley Tisdale of acting “uncomfortable” when she was the “High School Musical” star’s waitress following their Disney Channel days.
“I want to say she was lovely, but…” the “That’s So Raven” alum, 38, told “Big Name Bitches” podcast listeners on Thursday’s premiere episode before trailing off.
“She didn’t do anything,” the actress clarified, “but she was uncomfortable for me. She was so uncomfortable.”
Co-host Christy Carlson Romano cackled, saying she would have given van der Pol the “fattest f–king tip” if she was in Tisdale’s shoes.
“Well, you would have been like, ‘Oh, my God! Hi!'” van der Pol replied, implying that Tisdale did not react so warmly.
“I’m fine, girl!” the Broadway star wanted to tell Tisdale.
In fact, van der Pol often felt like making sure customers knew she was “OK” when they realized who she was.
“I’m actually really happy that I don’t have to audition and am doing something I know I’m good at,” she wanted to tell them at the time. “I know when I clean a table or bring a meal that I can do that and there won’t be any mistakes. I won’t be judged.
“Essentially, I kind of was judged,” van der Pol continued, noting that she felt “really proud” of herself while “multitasking” on the job.
The “Vampires Suck” star, who worked at Salvation Burger, Salvation Taco and Tavern on the Green in New York City for “about a year” of waitressing, said “the disappointment, the look, the drop of faces when [people] recognized [her] was truly gut-wrenching.”
Pvnew has reached out to Tisdale’s rep for comment.
While van der Pol did not specify when she worked in the restaurant business, she played Chelsea Daniels on “That’s So Raven” from 2003 to 2007 before reprising the role in 2017 for the “Raven’s Home” spinoff.
As for Tisdale, she started her Disney Channel career in 2005 as Maddie Fitzpatrick on “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody.” Simultaneously, she acted as Sharpay Evans in the “High School Musical” film franchise.
