That’s so not fetch.
Reneé Rapp is accusing the producers of the Broadway musical “Mean Girls” of making harmful comments about her weight that allegedly worsened her eating disorder.
The actress, who was cast in the role of Regina George at age 19, alleged to the Guardian in an interview published Wednesday that production “would say some vile f–king things to me about my body.”
Rapp also claimed that the cruel remarks got so bad prior to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 that her parents had to fly out to New York City to remove her from the show “for fear of what it was doing to her health.”
The 23-year-old admitted she still struggles with an eating disorder, but noted, “At least my parents know that I’ve been taken out of environments that were really harmful to my sickness, which is awesome and a huge win.”
“They worry like hell, but they’re chilling, I guess,” she added.
Reps for Paramount Pictures and Broadway Video, two of the production companies for “Mean Girls Musical” listed on IMDb, did not immediately return Pvnew’s request for comment.
Despite her alleged negative experience, Rapp signed on to take part in the movie version of the play.
According to a February 2022 Deadline report, the “Talk Too Much” singer was set to reprise her role as George in the film, based on the Tony-nominated Broadway musical.
She was cast alongside Angourie Rice, Jaquel Spivey and Auli’i Cravalho. Tina Fey, who wrote the original 2004 movie starring Lindsay Lohan, was returning to pen the musical version.
It appears that Rapp will still star in the new movie as no announcements saying otherwise have been released.
The “Snow Angel” singer’s revelation comes just a month after she quit another job, on “The Sex Lives of College Girls,” due to yet another toxic working environment.
Pvnew exclusively reported in July that Rapp hired a top Hollywood attorney to help get her off Mindy Kaling’s HBO Max show.
A source told us at the time, “Both sides have been working to resolve things. There are a lot of egos at play.”
However, another insider claimed there were no issues and said Rapp simply “wanted to leave the show to tour and they’re currently working out the best creative solution for her departure, but she announced the tour without having clearance from the show.”
