Why ‘Desperate Housewives’ star Teri Hatcher was abruptly kicked off dating app Hinge

She’s not so desperate to date after this.

Teri Hatcher was booted from Hinge after the popular dating app believed she was someone impersonating the “Desperate Housewives” star.

“I tried Hinge. I thought, you know, I’m gonna say to the universe that I am open and vulnerable and I’m putting myself out there,” Hatcher, 59, admitted on the Jan. 23 episode of the “Getting Grilled with Curtis Stone” podcast.

“That’s what I thought my gesture of joining the Hinge app would be, and then they kicked me off,” she added.

The actress said she contacted Hinge to get a refund on her subscription, and they explained to her that the company thought her account was fraudulent.

“They thought I was pretending to be Teri Hatcher,” she said with a laugh, adding that Hinge ultimately “figured it out.”

“I complained. I was like, ‘Can I have my money back? You can kick me off,'” she recalled. “Anyway, they apologized.”

But by that point, Hatcher said she was “over it” and decided not to continue swiping for love.

“I’m definitely done with the dating apps, and I feel like if there’s any way I’ll go somewhere and meet someone, that’s what it’s gonna have to be,” she said.

Stone asked the “Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman” alum whether there were any exclusive apps she could use, seemingly referring to the membership-based dating platform Raya.

“There is, but those guys only want to date 30-year-olds, so, there is that fancy app you’re talking about,” she responded.

These days, Hatcher doesn’t date at all after noting that she has tried all the apps.

“I don’t meet people. I don’t meet anyone. If you come up with someone, let me know,” she told the celebrity chef.

However, the former Bond girl expressed how content she is being single.

“Honestly, I’m happy. I have a really full life, a really busy life. I have beautiful friends, you know. It’s fine,” she said, joking, “I don’t need a man — I have a cat.”

Hatcher was briefly married to Marcus Leithold from 1988 to 1989. She then wed Jon Tenney in 1994, but they divorced nine years later.

The Emmy-nominated star and Tenney, 62, share 26-year-old daughter Emerson.
