A Los Angeles private school dismissed its lawsuit against Kevin Federline after accusing the DJ of owing more than $15,000 in tuition for two of his children, Pvnew can /confirm/i.
An attorney representing West Valley Christian School, Ron Chow, filed a request for dismissal in Los Angeles Superior Court last Wednesday.
It is unclear why the college-preparatory school dropped its civil suit, but the court docket shows the decision was made “with prejudice,” meaning it cannot refile the same claim.
In addition, the court vacated a non-jury trial that had been scheduled for Nov. 5, 2024.
documents obtained by Pvnew do not disclose whether Federline and his wife, Victoria Prince, paid their alleged outstanding balance of $15,593 for the education of their two daughters, Jordan, 12, and Peyton, 9, or if the parties reached a settlement.
Neither Chow nor Federline’s lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, responded to requests for comment.
West Valley Christian School sued Federline, 45, and Prince, 40, on May 9 for “failing to pay for services which had been provided on credit at their special instance and request.”
The school said at the time that it had previously demanded the money out of court, but the couple allegedly “failed and refused … to pay all or any part of the remaining balance due.”
Federline and Prince, who did not publicly address the allegations, moved to Hawaii on Aug. 1 with their blended family, which includes the former dancer’s two sons with his ex-wife, Britney Spears.
Pvnew exclusively reported in May that the “Toxic” singer, 41, had consented to Sean Preston, 17, and Jayden, 16, relocating from their home state of California amid her estrangement from the boys.
Federline, who was married to Spears from October 2004 to July 2007, is also the father of daughter Kori, 21, and son Kaleb, 19, with his ex-fiancée Shar Jackson.
West Valley Christian School filed its dismissal request on the same day that the pop star’s current husband, Sam Asghari, went to court to end their 14-month marriage.
The sensational divorce has already been acrimonious, with the actor, 29, reportedly accusing Spears of cheating on and violently attacking him. However, sources close to the Grammy winner told us neither claim is true.
Federline’s attorney, Kaplan, has said his client hopes Spears and Asghari “work it out … whether that’s being together or not being together.”
The now-estranged couple tied the knot in June 2022 after nearly six years together.
