Ashley Iaconetti was not thrilled when she learned that she and her husband, Jared Haibon, were having a baby boy.
“I had such gender disappointment with Dawson,” the “Bachelor” alum, 35, admitted on a recent episode of “The Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous Podcast” — even though she “had a feeling” she was pregnant with a son.
Iaconetti and Haibon, 34, welcomed their first child together in January 2022.
Despite her initial feelings about being a boy mom, Iaconetti claims she “doesn’t care as much” about whether they have another son down the line.
“I’d be happy if we had a boy, too, because then I’d want them to have that, hopefully, brother bond,” she explained, adding that she and Haibon will start trying “very soon” for baby No. 2.
Iaconetti made similar comments in February 2019.
“It’s really about the gender,” she told Us Weekly at the time. “Because I want a boy to have another brother or a girl to have a sister.”
However, she said she “need[s] to have a girl.”
At the time, Haibon added that they “want to have kids in 2020 or 2021,” noting that they “might have some sooner.”
The duo — who met on Season 2 of “Bachelor in Paradise” in 2015 — revealed they were expecting in July 2021 after “trying to conceive for 6 months/cycles.”
“A couple months ago, I was saying I would start feeling worried if I wasn’t pregnant by June,” the journalist told her Instagram followers that May, making sure to note that they were “not struggling to conceive” because “that description is for couple’s [sic] actively trying for a year.”
Iaconetti and Haibon began dating in early 2018 and got engaged that summer while filming “BiP” Season 5.
The pair tied the knot in the actor’s home state of Rhode Island in August 2019.
