Megan Thee Stallion takes a dig at Nicki Minaj’s husband, convicted sex offender Kenneth Petty, in her new single, “Hiss,” reigniting a feud between the rappers.
In the track, which was released Friday, the “Savage” emcee, 28, raps, “These hoes don’t be mad at Megan / These hoes mad at Megan’s Law / I don’t really know what the problem is / But I guarantee y’all don’t want me to start.”
Megan’s Law is the name of a federal law in the US that requires law enforcement authorities to make information available to the public regarding registered sex offenders.
The law was created in response to the death of Megan Kanka, a 7-year-old girl who was raped and murdered in 1994 by her neighbor Jesse Timmendequas after he lured her into his house.
Timmendequas had previously been convicted of child molestation.
The lyric is a direct dig at Petty, 45, who became a registered sex offender after being convicted of attempted rape in the first degree in April 1995 for assaulting a then-16-year-old girl named Jennifer Hough.
In September 2021, Petty — who wed Minaj, 41, in October 2019 — pleaded guilty to failing to register as a sex offender in the state of California after relocating there from New York.
After “Hiss” dropped, Minaj — born onika Maraj — went on Instagram Live to preview an unreleased single, which takes aim at the foot injuries Megan sustained after being shot by Tory Lanez in July 2020.
“Bad bitch, she like 6 foot / I call her Bigfoot / The bitch fell off / I said get up on your good foot,” the “Barbie World” emcee says in the song.
In December 2022, Lanez, 31, was found guilty on all charges for shooting Megan. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison the following August.
Minaj then mimics the Grammy winner’s flow, which some have compared to that of her fellow Houston rappers Bun B and the late Pimp C.
“You have three Grammys and you have to learn how to rap on the beat and be comfortable in the music,” she raps.
Minaj also “liked” several tweets on X, formerly known as Twitter, by fans who mocked Megan’s appearance and foot injuries.
The “Sweetest Pie” rapper and Minaj previously collaborated on their hit, “Hot Girl Summer,” which was released in 2019.
It’s unclear when their feud actually started, but fans believe the “Super Bass” rapper had an issue with Megan collaborating with her nemesis Cardi B for their hit single “WAP,” which came out in 2020.
Minaj seemingly dissed the Houston rapper on her 2023 track “Red Ruby Da Sleeze” when she said, “But I don’t f–k with horses since Christopher Reeves,” which referenced the late actor’s accident when he fell off a horse and suffered from a spinal cord injury.
