This singer is switching over to heavy metal.
Billie Eilish surprised fans on Instagram Monday when she posted some new photos of herself sporting diamond grills on her teeth — and her blinged-out accessory caused a bit of an uproar amongst some of her fans.
In the first pic, the “Ocean Eyes” singer, 21 — who captioned the post “this ain’t that” — grins at the camera as her teeth dazzle in a dark car, and another mega-closeup shot reveals her blingy diamond-studded front tooth and another silver-capped chomper.
She also shared a top view of her head that shows off her new red roots, along with an old shot of herself sporting silver hair and a pair of crystal-studded glasses, among other pics.
“Wtf she did it with her teeth” one fan wrote, prompting another to reply, “I know it looks dumb as hell.”
A third Instagram user accused her of “appropriating black culture” when another Eilish fan said the grills were “part of her new hip-hop inspired look.”
Others defended the “Happier Than Ever” singer, like one who commented, “bro it’s just grillz that’s not permanent it’s an accessory + she can do whatever she wants with her own teeth.”
“She looks like an old man with her new tooth but I still love her” another social media user joked.
Eilish is far from the first star to show off diamond accents on her teeth, with everyone from Kim Kardashian to Justin Bieber, Drake and Madonna — who has numerous blingy pieces — wearing flashy tooth jewelry.
Her tooth transformation isn’t the only change the Grammy winner has made in recent days; she went blond for the “What Was I Made For?” video on the “Barbie” soundtrack before revealing her new black-and-red style at Lollapalooza earlier this month.
