Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx are back in action.
The actors were spotted on the Atlanta, Ga. set of their upcoming movie, “Back in Action,” Saturday for the first time since Foxx, 56, experienced a health emergency in April 2023.
Both stars appeared to be in a chipper mood in photos obtained by Pvnew and were seen walking outside together in casual clothing.
Diaz, 51, wore dark gray cargo-style skinny pants paired with a white shirt and cream cardigan, while the “Django Unchained” star rocked navy slacks and a dark gray sweater.
They matched in white sneakers.
When Foxx was hospitalized on April 11, 2023, it was unclear if he had more scenes to shoot for the action-comedy.
After his daughter Corinne revealed the news of his health scare, his celebrity pals like Tracy Morgan, Taraji P. Henson, Kerry Washington and LeBron James took to social media to wish him good health and rapid healing
After weeks of opposing reports regarding his health and hospitalization status, Foxx hopped on his Instagram page on May 3, 2023 to assure fans he was in the process of healing and thankful for their support.
Shortly after, Corinne, who is newly engaged, took to social media to hit back at a report that claimed her father was “preparing for the worst” amid his mystery illness.
“Update from the family: Sad to see how the media runs wild. My Dad has been out of the hospital for weeks, recuperating,” she wrote on her Instagram Story on May 12.
“In fact, he was playing pickleball yesterday!” she added. “Thanks for everyone’s prayers and support!”
Finally, on July 22, 2023, following several positive updates from people in his life, Foxx returned to Instagram to discuss his condition.
While he declined to share exactly what happened to him, he assured he was never blind or paralyzed, as some had theorized.
“I went through something I thought I would never, ever go through,” he explained.
“I know a lot of people were waiting or wanting to hear an update, but to be honest with you, I didn’t want you to see me like that, man.”
He continued, “I want you to see me laughing, having a good time, partying, cracking a joke, doing a movie or a television show.”
“I didn’t want you to see me with tubes running out of me and trying to figure out if I was going to make it through.”
Opening up a bit more about the status of his health, the Academy Award winner added, “I went to hell and back … And my road to recovery had some potholes as well. But I’m coming back. And I’m able to work.”
In August 2023, he said he was finally starting to feel like his old self again.
Foxx’s return to set also comes after Diaz defended him against rumors that he had a “meltdown” before his hospitalization that caused her to quit acting for the second time.
“Jamie is the best. I love that guy so much,” she gushed on a December 2023 episode of Molly Sims’ “Lipstick on the Rim” podcast.
“He’s such a special person and he’s so talented, so much fun.”
