How Britney Spears’ sons are handling ‘trauma’ from wildfires in first weeks as Hawaii residents

Britney Spears’ teen sons, Sean Preston and Jayden, are “very sad” to see a natural disaster tear apart their new neighbors’ homes in Hawaii, Pvnew has learned.

“[They are] not personally [affected], but there’s people in the area that are dying and having their homes destroyed, so it’s very traumatic,” their father Kevin Federline’s attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, tells us exclusively.

“Obviously, right now, everyone is very sad about what’s going on there with the fires and the casualties from the fires, but other than the trauma from that, they’re very happy to be there.”

Wildfires have ravaged the island of Maui this week, and the death toll increased to 55 by Thursday afternoon.

Frantic survivors have been seen scrambling through an “apocalyptic” scene of dead bodies.

Federline, 45, just moved his family, including Preston, 17, and Jayden, 16, from California to Hawaii on Aug. 1.

The brood made the move after the former backup dancer’s wife, Victoria Prince, got a new job there, forcing all of their kids to relocate with them.

However, Kaplan reassures Pvnew that Preston and Jayden have always been on board with changing home states in their late teens, telling us, “They love it there. They had been there before they decided to make the move, but they’re very happy there.”

Despite the unexpected “trauma” they’ve recently experienced due to the wildfires, Federline’s longtime lawyer claims the boys are still “very excited” about “building a future in a new environment, making new friends and exploring new opportunities.”

“They’re excited about it,” Kaplan adds. “They’re living in paradise.”

We’re told Preston and Jayden will continue to get their educations, with one attending school in Hawaii while the other works remotely with their Los Angeles school. It is unclear which child will do the in-person schooling.

Reps for Spears did not immediately return Pvnew’s request for comment on whether she has concerns about her sons being in Hawaii during the wildfires.

However, the pop icon, 41, previously said via her attorney that she was OK with her sons leaving their home state.

“To her credit, Britney Spears will not interfere with and consents to the relocation,” Mathew Rosengart wrote in a letter obtained by Pvnew exclusively in May.

Federline and Spears have a 70-30 custody agreement in the DJ’s favor. Kaplan previously told us the exes had not “been exercising custody pursuant to the order — it’s sort of been what they agree to.”

Many fans believed Federline intended to move his family to Hawaii as a last-ditch effort to extend his sons’ child support payments since the law in the Aloha State allows for the funds to be made up until age 23 if the kids are enrolled full-time in an accredited college, university, vocational or trade school.

However, the father of six disputed those allegations, telling a paparazzo in June, “A lot of people say a lot of stupid things.”

Aside from Preston and Jayden, Federline shares daughter Kori, 21, and son Kaleb, 19, with his ex-fiancée Shar Jackson, as well as daughters Jordan, who turns 12 next week, and Peyton, 9, with Prince, 40.
