Podcaster Jackie Oshry is downplaying Ramona Singer’s use of a partial racial slur.
Oshry defended Singer on Tuesday after the embattled “Real Housewives of New York City” alum was axed from BravoCon 2023 and fired from her real estate job at Douglas Elliman for texting “n-g” to a Pvnew reporter.
“You know who’s the cancellation of the week, which is just reading so off to me? Ramona,” she said on “The Toast,” which she co-hosts with her sister Claudia Oshry.
“We read the [text] message. She did not use a slur,” Jackie, 31, added.
Singer, 66, used the partial slur last week while reaching out to our reporter in an attempt to downplay a Vanity Fair exposé about Bravo that also detailed her alleged history of racism.
“the word I used Was ‘NWord’ Not n-g…” the reality star wrote.
Jackie doubled down on her stance, telling listeners that Singer “didn’t use the word.”
She and Claudia, 29, also argued that there was a difference between using the slur in a “targeted” way toward “a person of color” versus “speaking about the word.”
“Even though she was speaking about the word, she still didn’t say the word,” Jackie added.
Elsewhere in the conversation, Claudia mentioned Andy Cohen saying Singer being disinvited from BravoCon was “the right call.”
Jackie was visibly perplexed, saying, “If it was the right call, then it should have been the right call when she said it.
“I just feel like she’s falling on the sword for that whole [Vanity Fair] article, and it’s … why now, why Ramona now after more than 10 years of bad behavior?”
Claudia claimed the bombshell story led to “little fallout” from network executives.
“It’s all on Ramona,” Jackie exclaimed. “It’s odd.”
Vanity Fair reported that Singer allegedly used the N-word while talking to a black “RHONY” crew member, though an internal investigation came back “inconclusive.”
The former “Housewife” did, however, admit to saying during an anti-discrimination training that “most” black fathers are not present in their children’s lives.
Jackie and Claudia also mentioned their own “cancellations” during the podcast episode.
The sisters’ show “The Morning Breath” was axed in 2018 after the identity of their mother, anti-Muslim agitator Pamela Geller, was revealed. Fans also unearthed past racist tweets from the pair.
“In hindsight, you realize how stupid it was,” the Girl With No Job influencer said of being “canceled.”
“Now I look back on it and I’m like, ‘Really? Our tweets?’ Get a grip.”
