Holland Taylor doesn’t like the idea of sharing the screen with girlfriend Sarah Paulson.
“I can’t imagine,” she told PvNew Monday on the Emmys 2024 red carpet.
“I don’t like seeing couples doing things because I’m always aware of the coupledom.”
When asked whether she and the “American Horror Story” star have been pitched co-starring roles, Taylor revealed she’s received “one or two” offers.
But when it comes down to it, the “Legally Blonde” actress, 81, said she would only consider acting alongside Paulson, 49, in “The Chalk Garden.”
“It’s a very rarified kind of play,” she explained of the 1955 murder mystery written by Enid Bagnold.
The play — which involves a grandmother, her granddaughter and a governess — was previously adapted for the big screen in 1964 with Deborah Kerr and Hayley Mills.
Taylor appeared at the Emmys on Sunday night alongside “Two and a Half Men” co-star John Cryer to present the award for Best Supporting Actor in a comedy series.
While it is unclear whether Paulson joined Taylor at the awards show, the two have been in a relationship for quite some time.
The couple began dating in 2015, at first raising some eyebrows with their nearly 32-year age gap.
However, Paulson shut down the critics in 2018.
“If anyone wants to spend any time thinking I’m strange for loving the most spectacular person on the planet, then that’s their problem,” she told Modern Luxury at the time, adding, “I’m doing just fine.”
In November 2023, Taylor told Pvnew that her and Paulson’s secret to success over the past eight years was giving each other space to be their own people.
“I think we each follow our own path so we’re not exactly the same,” she shared.
“We do some things separately so everyone gets to be true to what they believe. She’s much more social, and I like a little bit of alone time, so I have that. She spends some time with friends and not with me, so it’s a good balance.”
