Sandra Bullock’s longtime partner, Bryan Randall, has died. He was 57.

His family confirmed the tragic news in a statement shared with Pvnew Monday.

“It is with great sadness that we share that on Aug. 5, Bryan Randall passed away peacefully after a three-year battle with ALS,” his family shared.

“Bryan chose early to keep his journey with ALS private and those of us who cared for him did our best to honor his request.”

“We are immensely grateful to the tireless doctors who navigated the landscape of this illness with us and to the astounding nurses who became our roommates, often sacrificing their own families to be with ours,” it continued.

The family further asked for “privacy to grieve and to come to terms with the impossibility of saying goodbye to Bryan.”

Who was Bryan Randall? Inside the life of Sandra Bullock’s late boyfriend

Per the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a rare neurological disease that affects the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord which control voluntary muscle movement.

As the disease progresses, the brain loses the ability to initiate and control voluntary movements.

A cure for ALS — also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease — has yet to be found and there is also no effective treatment to reverse its progression.

The photographer first met the “Blind Side” actress, 59, at her adopted son Louis‘ birthday in January 2015. The pair immediately hit it off and started dating soon after.

However, it wasn’t until October of that year that the pair made their red carpet debut at the premiere of Bullock’s film “Our Brand Is Crisis.”

While they kept most of their romance out of the public eye, Bullock said during a December 2021 appearance on “Red Table Talk” that she had “found the love of my life” in Randall.

“We share two beautiful children — three children, [Randall’s] older daughter. It’s the best thing ever,” Bullock — who adopted son Louis, 13, and daughter Laila, 10 — said at the time.

Bryan shared adult daughter Skylar Staten Randall with his previous partner.

During that same interview, the Oscar winner opened up about meshing their lives together and co-parenting with Bryan.

“He’s the example that I would want my children to have,” she said. “I have a partner who’s very Christian and there are two different ways of looking at things. I don’t always agree with him, and he doesn’t always agree with me. But he is an example even when I don’t agree with him.”

“I’m stubborn but sometimes I need to sit back and listen and go, ‘You’re saying it differently but we mean exactly the same thing,'” the “Bird Box” actress added. “It’s hard to co-parent because I just want to do it myself.”

At the time, Bullock admitted that marriage probably wasn’t in their future because they wanted to “think about the children first.”

“I don’t need a paper to be a devoted partner, devoted mother,” she said. “I don’t need to be told to be ever-present in the hardest of times. I don’t need to be told to weather a storm with a good man.”

Prior to his passing, Us Weekly sources speculated that the pair had broken up as they hadn’t been seen together in public for years — yet this was never confirmed by either Bullock or Bryan.

Bryan’s family is asking for donations to be made to the ALS Association and the Massachusetts General Hospital to honor the late photographer.
