Sandra Bullock raised two children with her late boyfriend, Bryan Randall.
The “Miss Congeniality” star’s longtime partner passed away on Aug. 5, 2023, after quietly battling amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) for three years.
Randall, who has a daughter named Skylar with a previous relationship, went official with Bullock in January 2015.
At the time, Bullock was already a mom to her son, Louis, whom she adopted in 2010.
She later adopted daughter Laila in 2015.
In March 2022, the “Ocean’s 8” star announced that she would be taking a step back from acting to focus on her home life.
Though Bullock did not mention Randall’s health condition at the time, she noted that she wanted to be “in the place that makes [her] happiest.”
“I take my job very seriously when I’m at work,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “And I just want to be 24/7 with my babies and my family.”
The “Lost City” star had previously gushed about her co-parenting relationship with Randall during an appearance on “Red Table Talk” in December 2021, revealing that she had “found the love of [her] life.”
“We share two beautiful children — three children, [Randall’s] older daughter. It’s the best thing ever,” she said.

Louis Bardo Bullock
Sandra adopted her son, Louis, as a newborn in 2010 after beginning the process of adoption years prior.
“He was unexpected, he was not planned,” Bullock recalled during a March 2022 interview with CBS News. “I got a call one day, ‘Your placement is here,’ and that’s years after having filed it, years.”
At the time, the “28 Days” star was married to Jesse James.
Within weeks of Louis’ homecoming, Bullock and James’ marriage made headlines due to his infidelity.
In March 2010, multiple women came forward claiming they had affairs with the “Monster Garage” alum during his relationship with Bullock.
The Oscar winner later detailed her struggle to protect her son from the messy divorce.
“So much had happened. How do you process grief and not hurt your child in the process?” she told CBS News.
“It’s a newborn, they take on everything that you’re feeling. So, my obligation was to him and not tainting the first year of his life with my grief.”
Laila Bullock
In 2015, Bullock adopted her daughter, Laila, through the foster care system.
Bullock revealed on “Red Table Talk” in 2021 that she took classes on how to raise children with trauma before welcoming Laila into her home.
“She’d be in the closet with all her clothes on, she’d be on a bookshelf, she’d be hiding, she’d always be ready to leave,” the actress recalled of her daughter, adding that she always made sure Laila knew that she wasn’t “going anywhere.”
Speaking on Randall’s support at the time, she said, “My partner said to me, ‘When she’s been with us longer than she hasn’t been, I have a feeling we’re going to see a change.'”
“You love by leaning in and hugging and holding and letting them know that they are not going anywhere.”
Later in the interview, Bullock shared that — while it took years for her daughter to grow more comfortable at home — they reached a point in 2019 when Laila no longer had to sleep in the same room.
Skylar Staten Randall
Randall welcomed daughter Skylar in September 1993 with late girlfriend Janine Staten.
Skylar’s mother passed away in January 2004 after battling drug addiction.
Little is known about the photographer’s daughter since she has remained relatively out of the spotlight.
