Sandra Bullock’s longtime partner, Bryan Randall, died “peacefully” on Aug. 5, 2023, at the age of 57 following a “three-year battle with ALS,” his family told Pvnew in a statement.
“Bryan chose early to keep his journey with ALS private, and those of us who cared for him did our best to honor his request,” they said.
“We are immensely grateful to the tireless doctors who navigated the landscape of this illness with us and to the astounding nurses who became our roommates, often sacrificing their own families to be with ours,” the family continued, asking for “privacy to grieve and to come to terms with the impossibility of saying goodbye to Bryan.”
Much like how he handled his health struggles, Randall lived a relatively private life. Here is everything we know about the A-list actress’ late boyfriend of eight years:
Where was Bryan Randall from?
Randall was originally from Portland, Ore.
What did he do for a living?
Randall was a professional photographer who owned his own company, Bryan Randall Photography. He focused primarily on children’s portraits and outdoor scenes.
However, before he discovered his passion behind the lens, Randall worked as a model.
He did campaigns for major labels like Yves Saint Laurent and Hugo Boss and also graced the pages of various high-end fashion magazines, including Vogue Paris and Harper’s Bazaar Singapore.
Randall also briefly studied acting at Los Angeles drama school Anthony Meindl’s Actor Workshop.
Did he have kids?
Randall was dad to an adult daughter named Skylar from a previous relationship with a woman named Janine, whom he met in rehab in the early 1990s.
“Heroin was their drug of choice,” a friend claimed to the Post in August 2023.
Skylar lived with Janine until the latter’s sudden death in 2007. The then-teen then went to go live with her maternal grandmother, who died shortly after.
After her grandma’s death, Skylar was sent to live with her then-estranged father in LA. Family members told the Post that Randall cleaned up his act and stepped up to become an involved parent.
Did he date other celebrities?
Randall once dated Paris St. John, the daughter of late “Young and the Restless” star Kristoff St. John and retired boxer Mia St. John.
“He’s funny, light-hearted, a very free spirit, goofy and playful,” Mia told Pvnew of Randall in September 2015. “He’s amazing with kids.”
Mia added that Randall, who was 25 years older than Paris, “was really looking to settle down … get married and have more children.”
How did he meet Sandra Bullock?
Randall met Bullock in January 2015 when he photographed the birthday party of her son, Louis, whom she adopted in 2010. She adopted her daughter, Laila, in 2015.
Their relationship turned romantic a few months later, and they attended Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux’s wedding together that August.
They then made their red carpet debut as a couple at the premiere of her 2015 movie “Our Brand Is Crisis.”
“I found the love of my life,” Bullock gushed in a December 2021 episode of “Red Table Talk.”
“We share two beautiful children — three children, his older daughter. It’s the best thing ever.”
Did he want to marry Bullock?
Though it’s been reported that Randall really wanted marry the Oscar winner, she said on “Red Table Talk” that she did not “need a paper to be a devoted partner and devoted mother.”
Bullock and her ex-husband, biker rebel Jesse James, divorced in June 2010 after five years of marriage following his highly publicized cheating scandal.
Was he religious?
According to Bullock, Randall was “very Christian.”
“I don’t always agree with him, and he doesn’t always agree with me, but he is an example even when I don’t agree with him,” she said on “Red Table Talk.”
