Khloé Kardashian is a known peacemaker, but she admitted it’s not always easy.
The “Kardashians” star has made it a point to remain amicable co-parents and even friends with the father of her two kids, Tristan Thompson — despite his several cheating scandals. But in a new interview, she admitted some days can test her patience.
“I had to learn to take control of my feelings,” she explained to tmrw magazine for its latest issue.
“There were so many times that my feelings got control of me and I was impulsive and I tweeted something or posted something and things that you regret.”
“Do I have days I want to be a petty bitch? Of course! But I sort of do that privately.”
But despite her feelings, the 39-year-old mom of two is confident that she will never regret being nice.
“With me and Tristan, would it be really easy to never talk to him again and to just badmouth him or whatever? Of course,” she hypothesized.
“It’s way harder to be nice. It’s way harder when you’re really mad at someone, it’s really hard to sit in their face in front of your kids and be like, ‘Hi!'”
“Trust me,” she added, “That’s not how I feel every day.”
The Good American founder and Thompson, 32, have an infamously tumultuous relationship.
They share two children and, unfortunately, both of their pregnancies were subject to infidelity on Thompson’s part.
Before their daughter, True, was born in 2018, the NBA player was seen getting flirty with an unidentified woman at a New York City lounge.
“When I had True, I found out 48 hours before she was born that Tristan was cheating on me, and then I went into labor weeks early because I was so stressed out,” Kardashian recalled during the Season 2 premiere of her family’s hit Hulu series.
They separated in 2019 after Thompson was caught locking lips with Kylie Jenner’s former best friend, Jordyn Woods.
After the pair reconciled and hired a surrogate to carry their second child, Thompson found himself in the middle of a paternity lawsuit with fitness trainer Maralee Nichols, who gave birth to a son in early December 2021.
once he was confirmed as the father, he took to social media to profusely apologize to Kardashian.
“I sincerely apologize to everyone I’ve hurt or disappointed throughout this ordeal both publicly and privately,” he penned. “Khloé, you don’t deserve this.”
“You don’t deserve the heartache and humiliation I have caused you. You don’t deserve the way I have treated you over the years,” he continued.
“My actions certainly have not lined up with the way I view you,” Thompson went on. “I have the utmost respect and love for you. Regardless of what you may think.”
Since then, they have maintained a positive relationship and Kardashian even let her ex stay in her house with his 16-year-old brother, Amari, after the January 2023 death of their mom, Andrea.
In March 2023, Kardashian took to social media to praise him as a father as he turned 32, but also to encourage his continued growth as a person.
“You are truly the best father, brother & uncle. Your love, attention, silly dances, hugs, carpool rides, bed time rituals, the way u show up for them,” she captioned a carousel of the Cleveland Cavaliers star spending time with his children.
“All of the above means more than you’ll ever know to your family of littles.”
She continued, “My birthday wish for u is that u continue to crave change, healing, and transformation.
“Be strong, be kind, be patient, be free.”
“Continue to Make your soul and your mommy proud.”
