Hoda Kotb revealed her former “Today” show co-host Kathie Lee Gifford is “living her best life” nearly five years after she left the talk show.
Kotb gave a rare update about Gifford on Wednesday’s episode of “Today with Hoda and Jenna” after sharing a new song that Gifford had written.
“By the way, Kat’s living her best life, she’s in Nashville, she’s writing music, she is living her best life,” Kotb raved. “She’s playing with the cutest grandkids, putting out good music, so Kat, love you.”
Even though Gifford has been off the air the last few years, she has kept active on social media sharing personal life updates.
Several of Gifford’s recent social media posts have highlighted the birth of her third grandchild, Ford, on Nov. 27.
The “It’s Never Too Late” author, 70, became a grandma in May 2022 when her son Cody Gifford and daughter-in-law Erika Brown gave birth to Frankie, who was named after her late husband Frank Gifford.
Her daughter, Cassidy Gifford, also gave birth to a son named Finn in June 2023.
Besides her grandchildren, Gifford frequently shares posts pertaining to her Bible study video series, throwback moments from her days on morning TV and living it up in Nashville.
While the former “Live with Regis and Kathie Lee” co-host has not been shy letting her fans see what she’s been up to since her departure, Gifford has yet to post any photos with her boyfriend, Richard Spitz.
Gifford and Spitz were photographed for the first time as a couple while taking a stroll in Franklin, Tenn., in March 2023, per photos obtained by Pvnew.
The mom of two has yet to confirm her relationship with Spitz, but she did fess up to being in a “really special relationship” with someone in April 2021.
Gifford was married to football legend Frank Gifford for nearly 30 years from 1986 until he died in 2015.
The broadcast personality has spent most of her life in the public eye, since she began her singing career in the 1980s. She transitioned to cable television when she briefly worked as a correspondent on “Good Morning America.”
Gifford quickly rose to fame when she co-hosted alongside Regis Philbin on “Live with Regis and Kathie Lee” from 1985 to 2000.
She took a brief hiatus before switching networks and beginning her journey as co-anchor of “Today with Kathie Lee and Hoda” in 2008. Gifford and Kotb worked together for 11 years before Gifford stepped down and Jenna Bush Hager replaced her.
