Angus Cloud fans are pointing out the eerie parallels between the “Euphoria” star and late rapper Mac Miller.
The actor’s shocking death at age 25 was announced by his family Monday, almost five years after Miller died of an accidental drug overdose at age 26.
Despite obvious similarities in their appearances and the fact that both skyrocketed to fame at a young age, Cloud vowed to never portray the “Self Care” hitmaker in a biopic.
“I don’t think I would be prepared to take on someone’s life and legacy and try to replay that, you know? That man is a legend and he’s going to remain one. May he rest in peace, you feel me?” he told etalk last year, when asked about potentially channeling Miller one day.
“Taking on someone’s whole life and becoming that person, like, how much respect you have to give them to actually try to portray them, you know? Like, you have to learn, you know what I’m saying,” he went on.
Following the news of Cloud’s own tragic death this week, fans took to social media to point out how similar the duo looked.
“I wanted so badly to see Angus Cloud play as Mac Miller in a biopic. Damn. RIP to them both. Both died TOO young,” one fan said of their striking resemblance.
“Mac Miller and Angus Cloud both died at basically the same age. Mac Miller was 26 and Angus was 25. They look exactly the same? What could this mean?” another wrote.
A third person chimed in, “Losing Angus Cloud is bringing back a certain feeling I had when we first heard about Mac Miller passing,” while another added, “Angus Cloud had so much great work ahead of him. Was hoping to one day see him play Mac Miller. They looked so much alike.”
Cloud’s family revealed that the actor had been “intensely struggling” with the loss of his father prior to his untimely death.
“The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend,” they said in a statement.
“Angus was open about his battle with mental health, and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence.”
His cause of death remains unknown at this time.
Cloud’s mother, who found the actor unresponsive at the family’s Oakland, Calif., home, reported a “possible overdose” in her 911 call.
Diomi Cordero, who claims to be Cloud’s former talent manager, tweeted in April that his client had struggled with substance abuse after leaving the rehab clinic where they met.
Cordero alleged that in late 2021, he was told the actor was struggling to breathe so he rushed to his side to administer Narcan and perform CPR.
“Regrettably, as he regained consciousness, Angus vomited onto my face,” Cordero claimed, noting that his working relationship with the star ended after the incident.
Cloud is best known for portraying drug dealer Fezco alongside Zendaya on “Euphoria.”
Storm Reid, Javon Walton and more of his co-stars have honored his life with touching tributes.
