Joe Gorga was ejected from son Gino’s wrestling match over the weekend after nearly getting into a brawl with the high school referee.
The “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star launched himself from the bleachers of the Parsippany Hills High School gym after his 16-year-old son’s match ended with him being pinned to the floor, video obtained by TMZ shows.
Before Joe could reach the ref, school staffers and parents jumped in to intervene before the Bravolebrity could get into a real fisticuffs.
While Joe was being led out of the athletic facility, the ref continuously blowed his whistle until the reality star was gone. once Joe exited the gym, the wrestling match was able to proceed without incident.
A rep for Joe later told the outlet that he felt the referee made some bad and unfair calls during the match and also thought Gino’s opponent was mistreating him.
The rep added that Joe, 49, never intended to hurt anyone or get physical and that he simply let his emotions get the best of him. In fact, Joe is also said to be “proud” of the way Gino, described as a “class act,” behaved in spite of his own outburst.
It doesn’t appear that Joe’s wife, Melissa Gorga, attended the match.
Gino appeared to be unfazed by his father’s behavior as he posted a carousel of three photos from his wrestling match that showed him ready to take on his opponent.
It was his first Instagram post in nearly a year.
Meanwhile, “Juicy Joe” and Melissa also moved on from the incident and attended Kevin Hart’s premiere for his new Netflix movie, “Lift,” Monday night.
The couple stopped for a drink at NYC hotspot Bad Roman before meeting up with “Impractical Jokers” alum Joe Gatto inside the screening.
