Ariana Grande’s boyfriend, Ethan Slater, is focusing on fatherhood amid his divorce.
The Broadway star “desperately” wants to co-parent with his estranged wife, Lilly Jay, TMZ reported Friday.
The Tony nominee has been speaking to his ex daily and primarily talking about their 11-month-old son, according to the outlet’s sources.
Additionally, the insiders claimed Slater, 31, spent “a lot of time” with the little one in London after he and Jay called it quits.
The “Spongebob SquarePants: The Broadway Musical” star is reportedly “determined to have a major presence in the boy’s life.”
The outlet also alleged that Slater was “surprised” by Jay’s chat with Pvnew on Thursday, in which she told us Grande is “not a girl’s girl.”
After blasting the 30-year-old “Thank U, Next” singer, Jay called her own family “collateral damage” in Grande and Slater’s relationship.
However, a source told us that while Jay was “rightfully upset” about her marriage ending and her husband moving on with his “Wicked” co-star, the duo “didn’t do anything wrong.”
The insider claimed Jay and Slater were separated for two months prior to his and Grande’s romance, adding, “Ethan is trying to take the high road and hopes he can resolve this situation for the sake of their child.”
Slater filed to divorce Jay on Wednesday, nearly one week after his relationship with Grande came to light.
The songwriter and her estranged husband, Dalton Gomez, reportedly separated back in January.
According to the Daily Mail, Grande “hung out” with Slater, Jay and the high school sweethearts’ baby boy months before romancing the actor.
The “Victorious” alum reportedly told spoke about “want[ing] a baby” of her own “one day” after spending time with the child.
Slater and Jay kept their son’s arrival under wraps, surprising their Instagram followers with a picture of his “Wicked Cute” onesie in January.
“Super vague post, but we have a baby now,” Slater, who married his partner in November 2018, wrote at the time. He has since made his social media account private.
Reps for Gomez, Grande and Slater have yet to return Pvnew’s numerous requests for comment.
