Bachelor Nation fans are calling out Brayden Bowers for “breaking wedding etiquette” by proposing to Christina Mandrell during Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist’s big day.
Before the “Golden Bachelor” couple’s live ceremony, Bowers and Mandrell stopped by to talk to host Jesse Palmer, allowing the travel nurse to ask the influencer for her hand in marriage.
“For the first time in my life, I feel like I found someone that I can be myself with unapologetically,” he said before dropping down to one knee. “And I have no doubts that I want to spend the rest of my life with you.”
Of course, Bowers then whipped out a massive diamond sparkler from the franchise’s go-to jeweler, Neil Lane.
Mandrell, who appeared on Zach Shallcross’ season of “The Bachelor” last year, knelt to Bowers’ level and accepted his proposal with a kiss.
Although Palmer reassured fans that Bowers called Turner and Nist to get “their blessing before he proposed,” fans still slammed the reality TV star for seemingly trying to steal their thunder.
“PARTY FOUL BRAYDEN you NEVER propose at someone else’s wedding!!!” one person tweeted, while another person shared a gif from “School of Rock” that said, “You’re tacky and I hate you.”
“Brayden WOULD upstage someone’s wedding and propose… that is SO TACKY,” a third person agreed.
“I don’t care if Brayden got the couple’s approval to propose tonight. He didn’t get MY approval,” a fourth wrote alongside a gif of Chrissy Teigen cringing.
“Watching Brayden propose for ‘likes’ was WILD,” another upset viewer chimed in.
“whoever raised brayden should be ashamed, it’s just respect to not propose at someone else’s wedding. it’s very distasteful…” one more blunt fan added.
Bowers rose to fame on the most recent season of “The Bachelorette” with Charity Lawson.
Following a stint on “Bachelor in Paradise,” the 25-year-old met Mandrell, 27, but they kept their relationship under wraps for a few months before announcing they were together in December 2023.
Despite the wedding faux pas, Turner, 72, and Nist’s nuptials were still everything they dreamed it would be.
The couple said “I do” at the plush La Quinta Resort & Club in Palm Springs, Calif., surrounded by their friends, family and fellow Bachelor Nation stars.
Nist, 70, wore an off-the-shoulder mermaid dress designed by Badgley Mischka as she made her way down the rose-lined aisle alongside her son, Tommy.
Although one of the straps on her gown broke during the ceremony, Nist didn’t seem to pay it any mind as she read her heartfelt vows to Turner, who cleaned up nicely in a black tuxedo.
The Turners were married by Susan Noles, who actually competed for the groom’s heart alongside his now-wife but is now a close friend of the couple.
After the ceremony, the newlyweds enjoyed a night full of dancing, love and laughter.
