Kristin Cavallari blames Jeff Dye for “outing himself” as the ex who got arrested for DUI while on a coffee date with her.
The “Hills” alum was asked by a fan on Instagram to talk about his expletive-filled reaction to her podcast episode in which she described the ordeal and reminded viewers she never revealed his identity.
“I’m just going to f–king post it. This is so funny to me,” she began her Instagram Stories response on Wednesday. “Yah [sic], I never said his name so yeah.”
Cavallari, 36, said the “best part” of the comedian’s comments was that he boosted awareness of her podcast, “Let’s Be Honest.”
“He thinks he’s like, you know, tearing me apart, but you just gave me so much press for my podcast,” she continued.
“Thank you! Thank you for all the press. I didn’t even have to do anything.”
She signed off with one final dagger, telling the camera, “F–king amateurs, bro.”
During an October 2023 episode of her podcast, the former reality TV star detailed how one of her exes had shown up to a coffee shop appearing “disheveled” and “kind of” still drunk.
As they waited for their brews, the “Laguna Beach” alum said that a police officer approached them and questioned them before he began patting down the unnamed ex and placing him in handcuffs.
“One of the police officers goes, ‘There was a report of a hit-and-run down the street and he matches the description of the guy,’” she said. “I’m like, ‘Oh my god!’”
The next day, Cavallari received a voice note from the ex who said, “‘Just got out of jail. That was crazy. Wow.”
Last month, Dye confirmed he was the anonymous ex-boyfriend and said “f–k her” for telling his story “for clicks.”
“I had experiences with you that I didn’t go tell everyone,” Dye said. “Those were also my experiences when you were f–king off with all these other people.”
The former “Better Late Than Never” star, who has been sober for close to two months, said her podcast episode made him feel “horrific.”
“It was literally the worst day of my life,” he said. “The whole thing was just a mess.”
Cavallari and Dye, 40, broke up halfway through 2022.
