She’s getting the wrong kind of attention.
Doja Cat reportedly lost more than 250,000 followers on Instagram following her public spat with her loyal fanbase earlier this week, according to Daily Mail.
The huge loss on the social media platform comes days after the Grammy winner, 27, slammed her biggest fans, who called themselves “Kittenz.”
“My fans don’t name themselves s–t,” she wrote on Threads. “If you call yourself a ‘kitten’ or f–king ‘kittenz’ that means you need to get off your phone and get a job and help your parents with the house.”
When her loyal fans pointed out that she coined the term years ago, Doja said that she made up the moniker as an “alcoholic teen.”
When a fan inquired about what they should change their social media handles to, the “Attention” rapper told her supporters that they should “delete” their “entire account and rethink everything.”
Additionally, Doja called out fans who used her legal name — Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini — on their social media accounts.
“you making my government name your sn [screenname] is creepy as f—k,” she wrote and later deleted.
After a Taylor Swift fan account told Doja that she’d be “nothing” without her fans who have supported her “through thick and thin,” the musician responded, “Nobody forced you, [I don’t know] why you’re talking to me like you’re my mother bitch, you sound like a crazy person.”
The “Say So” singer’s harsh approach prompted several of her biggest fan pages — including The Kittens Room, Doja HQ and Doja Cat News — to delete their Twitter accounts.
Several users expressed how they felt Doja was being “mean” to her fanbase for no apparent reason.
“Doja being mean to her fans for bc [sic] of the word kitten like her name isn’t doja CAT and she wasn’t dressed as a cat and meowed her way through an entire interview a few months ago oh she has lost her mind,” a fan tweeted, referencing the feline look she rocked at the 2023 Met Gala.
Doja has since deactivated her Threads account.
Aside from her rude responses, the “Woman” singer — who shaved her head and eyebrows on Instagram Live last summer — has been shocking her fans with her new look, which many have deemed “demonic.”
Last Thursday, she shared a snap of her new hot pink buzzcut, complete with a massive bedazzled spider design on the back of her head.
And in May, the “Need to Know” singer debuted an enormous bat skeleton tattoo, which covered the entirety of her back.
