Sofía Vergara returned home from her birthday trip to Italy to plenty of support.
The “Modern Family” star received a couple of massive flower arrangements from friends, including famed florist Jeff Leatham, and she shared photos of the colorful bouquets to her Instagram Stories late Thursday, adding spinning heart stickers.
Although the florals are likely meant to honor her 51st birthday, they also appear to be acting as a kind gesture following Vergara’s estranged husband, Joe Manganiello, officially filing for divorce Wednesday.
The former “True Blood” star, 46, cited irreconcilable differences as the cause of the couple’s split and said in court documents that he would not contest their prenuptial agreement.
“We have made the difficult decision to divorce,” the actors told Pvnew in an exclusive statement Monday.
“As two people that love and care for one another very much, we politely ask for respect of our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives.”
An insider close to the pair later told us that they had been “growing apart for a while,” but a second source told us they decided to end their seven-year marriage because of Manganiello’s desire for children.
Vergara is already a mom to 31-year-old son Manolo, whom she shares with her first husband, Joe Gonzalez.
The “America’s Got Talent” judge was also involved in a brutal custody battle over two frozen embryos from her 2013 IVF treatments with ex-fiancé Nick Loeb, who wanted to bring them to term.
Though a judge ultimately ruled in the actress’ favor in March 2021, we’re told the drawn-out, emotional experience may have affected her view on conceiving again.
Despite reports claiming Manganiello’s decades-long sobriety negatively impacted the marriage, multiple sources said Vergara “could not have been more supportive” of his sobriety.
