Dalton Gomez visited Ariana Grande in London in a last-ditch attempt to mend their marital woes in January prior to deciding to divorce.
Sources close to the “Thank U, Next” songstress exclusively told Pvnew that Gomez flew to visit his wife while filming “Wicked,” but “it didn’t work out.”
Grande and Gomez — who celebrated two years of marriage in May — have been separated since January and are in the process of divorcing, but they have remained friends throughout the process.
“They came to the decision together,” one insider told us on Monday. “They were having problems before January, but they want to remain best friends.”
The source emphasized that the two have prioritized continuing to be “really good friends throughout the entire process.”
“Their friends and families have been trying to protect them,” they continued.
Grande, 30, and Gomez, 27, were photographed waiting in line for crepes together from the famous La Crêperie de Hampstead on Jan. 23.
Reps for the estranged couple haven’t returned Pvnew’s requests for comment. The couple has also stayed tight-lipped about their separation.
The “7 Rings” singer and the luxury real estate agent sparked speculation they were having marital problems when she was photographed not wearing her wedding band while at Wimbledon over the weekend.
Grande was last spotted wearing her ring in April at Jeff Goldblum’s concert in London.
The pop star secretly wed Gomez in an intimate ceremony at her Montecito, Calif., home in May 2021.
Grande even shared a sweet black-and-white photo of the two kissing from their wedding night to ring in their second anniversary two months ago.
“i love him so,” she captioned the pic, while adding they’d been together for three-and-a-half years in total.
Gomez proposed to Grande in December 2020 with a pearl and diamond ring that meant even more to her, since the pearl came from a ring her grandmother gave her.
The two confirmed their relationship in May 2020 when he appeared in her and Justin Bieber’s “Stuck with U” music video.
The “Victorious” alum was previously engaged to “Saturday Night Live” alum Pete Davidson in June 2018, but they called it off a few months later.
