Sofía Vergara once thought that being in a relationship with now-husband Joe Manganiello would be “too much work” due to his good looks.
In a resurfaced interview from “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” the “Modern Family” actress admitted that she was hesitant to pursue a relationship with the hunky actor after seeing how women were constantly “throwing themselves at him.”
“I told him when I met him that he was too handsome,” the 51-year-old explained in 2015, noting that she had just broken up with fiancé Nick Loeb.
“I didn’t want to go into a relationship with somebody that … I thought he was going to be too much work, because girls were throwing themselves at him,” she continued. “I’m like, ‘Ay! No! Please, I want somebody normal.”
In fact, Vergara claimed women would try to shoot their shot with the “Magic Mike” actor — who was named People’s Sexiest Man Alive that same year — right in front of her.
“Girls don’t care,” she joked. “I mean, have you seen him? I mean, I understand. I don’t judge them.”
Despite her initial hesitancy, Vergara ended up getting engaged to Manganiello, 46, less than one year after they started dating. They wed in November 2015 in a star-studded ceremony at the Breakers Resort in Palm Beach, Fla.
However, many fans fear they may be having some marital issues after Manganiello posted a “cold” birthday message to his wife earlier this week.
While the Columbian beauty is currently celebrating with her pals in Italy, the “True Blood” actor — who didn’t join his wife on vacation — simply posted a blurry throwback photo on Instagram captioned, “¡¡¡Feliz Cumpleaños Sofía!!!”
Fans were quick to flood the comments section with disdain for the “dry” way he commemorated his wife’s big day.
“Am I the only one who doesn’t like the way it sounds? ‘Sofia’ … not even ‘My love, My beloved wife ….
