HarbourView Equity Partners (HarbourView) has acquired a share of Fleetwood Mac’s record royalties owned by the estate of the late Christine McVie, along with a share of Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo’s publishing and recorded music assets. The deal for both artists spans the entirety of their respective careers.

Benatar and Giraldo are lauded for creating some of the most memorable rock hits of the 1980s, including “We Belong,” “Invincible,” “Love is a Battlefield,” “Promises In The Dark,” “We Live For Love,” “Heartbreaker” and “Hell Is For Children.” As a duo, the pair hold two multi-platinum, five platinum and three gold albums, as well as nineteen Top 40 hits. They have sold over thirty million records worldwide and have won four consecutive Grammy awards.

McVie, who died earlier this year at the age of 79 after a short illness, was a vocalist, musician and songwriter in Fleetwood Mac. Her pen and voice were behind singles like “Don’t Stop,” “Over My Head,” “Say You Love Me,” “Little Lies,” and “Everywhere.” Notably, her contributions to the band’s Grammy-winning album “Rumours” included “You Make Loving Fun,” “Don’t Stop” and the piano ballad “Songbird.”

“We are fortunate and blessed that the estate of Christine McVie and the iconic Pat & Neil chose to partner with our firm,” said Sherrese Clarke Soares, founder of HarbourView. “We look forward to welcoming more and diverse repertoire into our catalog. We take a long-term view on these assets and look to be the forever owner, partnering with the artists and estates to cement their legacy.“

McVie’s estate was represented by her longtime attorney Mario Gonzalez, and by the executors of her estate, Paul Glass (McVie’s business manager) and Martin Wyatt (personal manager). Benatar and Giraldo were represented by Gary Gilbert at Manatt, Phelps & Phillips. Financial terms of both McVie’s and Benatar and Giraldo’s transactions were not disclosed.

HarbourView’s portfolio features thousands of titles spanning numerous genres, eras, and artists, amounting to a diversified catalog of over 20,000 songs across both master recordings and publishing income streams.
