Before Julia Fox was shooting campaigns for Bloomingdale’s, she was on their black-list.
The 33-year-old revealed that in 2005, when she was just 15-years-old, she was caught stealing from the department store and exiled after.
“I’ve had so many full circle moments like that. I actually got caught shoplifting at Bloomingdale’s and I was 15 and I was permanently banned from the store,” the model admitted to ET Canada. “And then like eight years later, I did like a little holiday campaign for them.”
The “Uncut Gems” star recalled the moment she walked into that very same store location that she once shoplifted from, but this time she was a paid employee.
“And I remember when I came up, when I walked in in the morning, they asked for my ID and I was like, ‘Oh my God, are they going to like, look in the system and see that I’m, like, bad?’ And whatever, they didn’t, they let me in,” Fox said.
“But it’s like, you know, I still kind of live with that, like, trauma. I still, like, when I walk by police officers, like, hold my breath and look straight ahead,” she shared.
The “No Sudden Move” star also opened up about the pain she carries from her troubled past that still makes her feel like a “raggedy” girl from her youth, despite her success.
“I have so much trauma from being arrested and stuff. But, you know, it’s like you still carry those, like, scars from your past. Like, you know, I am, I guess, a different girl now, but I still feel like the same little raggedy, 13-year-old.”
Since the 2013 holiday Bloomingdale’s campaign in the early stages of her career, Fox has been the face of many other beauty and fashion campaigns.
She recently modeled Isamaya’s new “Industrial 2.0” makeup line in a BDSM-inspired shoot, which was very on brand for Fox as a former dominatrix.
The star is known to push the limits in fashion as well, frequently turning heads with scandalous looks. In May, she bared her butt in cut out pants while attending the Cannes Film Festival.
The model also channeled a sexy little mermaid at the DSquared2 catwalk in Milan last month.
“I’ve loved @dsquared2 since way before I could even afford it! (I used to get it using the five finger discount iykyk),” Kanye West’s ex wrote on Instagram at the time, referring again to her shady past.
“To be in Milan, the city I was born in, surrounded by people who inspire me and push the ‘boundaries’ of fashion is beyond a dream come true.”
