Matthew Perry’s “Friends” co-stars released a joint statement following the sudden death of their beloved castmate.
“We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just castmates. We are a family,” Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, Courteney Cox and Matt LeBlanc said in a statement to People Monday.
“There is so much to say, but right now we’re going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss.
They continued, “In time we will say more, as and when we are able. For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty’s family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world.”
Perry played Chandler Bing in the hit sitcom which ran for 10 years before ending in 2004.
An insider exclusively told Pvnew Sunday that his castmates are shaken by the news of the actor’s death.
“The cast is reeling from the loss of their brother, because that’s what Matty was — their brother,” the insider told us. “It’s just devastating.”
Maggie Wheeler, who played Janice in “Friends,” also reacted to the tragic news.
“What a loss. The world will miss you Mathew Perry,” the actress wrote via Instagram Saturday.
“The joy you brought to so many in your too short lifetime will live on. I feel so very blessed by every creative moment we shared. ♥️”
Perry was found dead in a jacuzzi Saturday at his Los Angeles home from an apparent drowning. He was 54.

The Los Angeles Police Department told Pvnew that they “responded to the 1800 block of Blue Sail Rd for a death investigation on a male [at] 4:10 p.m. this afternoon.”
Sources told TMZ at the time that Perry’s assistant had left the Pacific Palisades home to run an errand for the actor, and upon returning two hours later had found him unresponsive in the jacuzzi.
No foul play was suspected, and while police sources later shared with the outlet that they had found various prescription drugs on the premises, no illicit drugs were discovered at the scene.
Some of the prescription medicines found in the home included “anti-depressants, anti-anxiety drugs and a COPD drug,” according to the outlet.
Perry — who released his memoir, “Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing,” in November 2022 — gushed over Aniston and the rest of his castmates weeks after releasing his book, admitting that he wished they all spent more time together.
“We don’t see each other as much,” he told Access Hollywood at the time. “I wish the group would see each other more times.”
Perry, focusing on Aniston, called the “Murder Mystery” star “wonderful” and “terrific” before adding that she is “the greatest.”
In an October 2022 interview, Perry also expressed gratitude for Aniston’s friendship when he was struggling with drug and alcohol addiction.
Perry told journalist Diane Sawyer that the actress had apparently confronted him, saying, “We know you’re drinking.”
“Imagine how scary a moment that was,” he said, explaining that Aniston was “the one that reached out the most.”
“I’m really grateful to her for that.”
