“Hotline Bling” just took on a new meaning.
During the opening night of Drake’s It’s All a Blur tour in Chicago Wednesday, a fan threw their cell phone at the Canadian rapper as he performed a rendition of Ginuwine’s song “So Anxious.”
According to a viral video of the incident, the mobile device hit the 36-year-old in the arm, however, he did not let the moment interrupt his performance.
Drake watched the phone land on the ground and continued singing the 1999 hit.
While the phone was not a part of the Grammy winner’s sold-out show, he did have some interesting props that were used, including a visual of swimming sperm.
The “Search & Rescue” rapper also performed alongside a hologram of a younger version of himself.
In a video posted on Twitter, Drake sat on a leather couch as he performed his hit “Look What You’ve Done” while his teenage self bopped his head along to the music.
Though the “No Guidance” rapper was apparently uninjured from the phone, other celebs weren’t so lucky.
Last month, Bebe Rexha revealed she sustained a massive black and blue shiner after a concertgoer hit her in the eye with a cell phone during her New York City performance on June 18.
At the time, the “I’m Good” singer, 33, posted an Instagram selfie, giving a thumbs up while sporting the huge bruise on her left eye.
Nicolas Malvagna, the man who threw the phone at Rexha, was arrested and charged for the incident. However, he claimed that he was just trying to take part in a TikTok trend.
Phones haven’t been the only thing fans have been throwing on stage lately.
Singer Pink was in for a surprise when a fan recently threw their mother’s ashes on stage while she was performing.
With a shocked expression on her face, the “There You Go” singer, 43, confessed, “I don’t know how I feel about this,” before placing the ashes on the edge of the stage.
