And just like that … Kim Cattrall continued to fan the flames after her highly publicized exit from the “Sex and the City” franchise.
The 66-year-old actress poked fun at her refusal to return for a third movie after writer Evan Ross Katz made a joke about the situation.
“Kim Cattrall after reading the SEX AND THE CITY 3 script,” Katz tweeted Wednesday along with a photo of Shakira at Paris Fashion Week in a trench coat emblazoned with the word “NO.”
The “How I Met Your Father” star delighted online users as she reacted to the comment with a cheeky, “Ha!!!”
“Loving your response,” one person wrote in response to Cattrall. Another simply tweeted, “Iconic.”
Cattrall, who played fan-favorite public relations whiz Samantha Jones, made headlines in 2017 when she declined to appear in a third “Sex and the City” movie.
She had previously starred alongside Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon in 2008’s “Sex and the City” and 2010’s “Sex and the City 2.”
In a May 2022 interview with PvNew, the “Queer as Folk” star confirmed that Samantha’s storyline in the film had her receiving unwanted d-—k pics from Miranda’s teenage son, Brady — which she called “heartbreaking.”
“Why can’t Samantha, who owns her PR company — maybe she had to sell it because of financial woes? 2008 was tough. Some people are still recovering,” she said.
“She had to sell it to some guy who’s wearing a hoodie, and that’s the dilemma she has. That’s a scenario that was kind of off the top of one of my reps’ heads, and I thought that’s a great idea. That’s a conflict. Instead of an underage boy’s …”
Cattrall went on to explain that she “would have preferred for all of us to have some kind of event to warrant a third film. That didn’t happen.”
She continued, “But also, I was ready … And as difficult as it was, and as scary as it is to stand up and not be bullied by the press or the fans or whomever — to just say, ‘I’m good. I’m on this track. It was so great working with you. I so enjoyed it, but I’m over here.'”
However, the actress has since surprised fans with the revelation that she has a cameo in Season 2 of “And Just Like That” after vowing to never appear on the show.
Pvnew exclusively reported that Cattrall refused to film with Parker, Davis or Nixon.
She also would not set foot on the Queens set if showrunner — and SJP ally — Michael Patrick King was there, sources told Pvnew.
Despite playing best friends on screen for years, Cattrall has made her dislike for Parker, 58, widely known.
“Are we the best of friends? No,” she said of their dynamic in 2008, per the Telegraph. “We’re professional actresses. We have our own separate lives.”
In a 2017 interview with Piers Morgan, Cattrall said she felt like Parker “could have been nicer.”
She added, “I don’t know what her issue is, I never have.”
The strained relationship took a sharper turn in 2018 when Cattrall’s brother died and Parker offered condolences online.
“My Mom asked me today, ‘When will that @sarahjessicaparker, that hypocrite, leave you alone?’ Your continuous reaching out is a painful reminder of how cruel you really were then and now,” Cattrall posted on Instagram at the time.
“Let me make this VERY clear. (If I haven’t already) You are not my family. You are not my friend. So I’m writing to tell you one last time to stop exploiting our tragedy in order to restore your ‘nice girl’ persona.”
Parker has been tight-lipped about the feud, but did describe the situation as “very painful” during a June 2022 interview on THR’s Awards Chatter podcast.
Earlier this month, Cattrall hinted that her appearance on “AJLT” would be a one-time occurrence and fans shouldn’t expect her return to the franchise.
“It felt like dipping my toe back in time and having a wonderful afternoon,” she said on the “Today” show last week.
