They couldn’t figure it out at the Waffle House.
Joe Jonas’ family was “pulling for” the singer and his wife, Sophie Turner, prior to the couple’s divorce, a source tells Pvnew exclusively.
However, we’re told that even his loved ones’ support could not help Jonas and Turner resolve their marital issues.
“It wasn’t working anymore. It happens,” the family insider shares. “Joe has to do what he has to do, and same goes for Soph. only they know what’s best for them and their family.”
Multiple media outlets have made Turner out to be an absent mother in the midst of her separation from the Jonas Brothers member, but our source extends some grace to the “Game of Thrones” star.
“The family loves her and the love she has for those girls,” the Jonas insider says, referencing the pair’s two daughters.
Reps for the former couple did not respond to our requests for comment.
Pvnew confirmed on Sept. 3 that Jonas, 34, and Turner, 27, were heading for divorce. Two days later, he filed court papers requesting to dissolve their “irretrievably broken” four-year marriage.
“Divorce was a last resort for Joe,” a family source told us on Sept. 5. “He never wanted to break up his family, but he had to take what he felt was the best course of action for his girls. An unhappy home isn’t a home, and the truth is that he and Sophie were going through it this year.”
The insider added that the DNCE frontman “finally reached a point where he felt that he had exhausted all options to salvage the marriage.”
Jonas and Turner addressed their split for the first time in a joint statement on Sept. 6.
“After four wonderful years of marriage we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage,” they wrote on Instagram. “There are many speculative narratives as to why but, truly this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children.”
The pair eloped in Las Vegas in May 2019 after getting engaged in October 2017.
They welcomed daughter Willa, now 3, in July 2020 and another baby girl, whose first initial is D, in July 2022.
Joe is currently on tour with his brothers Kevin Jonas and Nick Jonas, while Turner has been in her native England filming the upcoming TV series “Joan.”
