Meghan Markle has made her debut at the Invictus Games 2023.
After traveling from Los Angeles, the Duchess of Sussex reunited with her husband, Prince Harry, in Düsseldorf, Germany, Tuesday to meet the friends and family of this year’s competitors.
For the reception, the mom of two looked stylish in a black pleated shirtdress from Banana Republic Factory paired with matching heels.
She complemented her ensemble with a beaded friendship bracelet on her wrist that read “I am Invictus,” the motto of the international sporting event.
Markle, 42, was all smiles as she took the stage alongside her husband to deliver a speech, where she apologized for missing the opening ceremony.
“It is so special to be here, and I’m so sorry that I was a little late for the party,” she said, per Hello! magazine.
“Just like so many of you, we know this is about family and friends and the community that Invictus has created … and so I had to just spend a little bit more time getting our little ones settled at home,” she continued.
“Getting milkshakes, doing school drop off and then I just landed a couple of hours ago. I am thrilled that the first event that I can do with Invictus is here with all of you.”
Markle also concluded her speech with another sweet nod to her two children: son Archie Harrison, 4, and daughter Lilibet Diana, 2.
“Have the best time, we’re cheering for you, and we can’t wait to bring our kids also so they can experience just how awesome this is,” she said. “Thank you guys so so much.”
Before heading onstage, the “Suits” alum was photographed happily greeting and hugging competitors like Glory Essien, whom Markle called her “Nigerian sister,” per the outlet.
Harry, 38, kicked off the sixth annual Invictus Games honoring wounded, sick and injured servicemen and women on Saturday.
Days later, his wife was spotted looking chic in a designer outfit worth $40,000 while boarding a flight from Los Angeles to London.
The former actress’ luxurious ensemble included a pair of Ulla Johnson Polina pants ($590), her beloved Valentino Roman Stud flats ($770) and a navy cashmere sweater from J. Crew ($138).
She also accessorized with Celine Triomphe sunglasses ($510), a Janessa Leone Michon hat ($267) and a Goyard Bellechasse Biaude PM tote ($2,000), while her Hermès Brides de Gala scarf ($1,225) was seen in her bag.
As for jewelry, Markle stacked her yellow gold Cartier Love bracelet ($7,350) with a Tank Française watch ($26,000).
