Tiffany Haddish was officially charged with a DUI Wednesday, three weeks after she was arrested for falling asleep at the wheel while intoxicated, Pvnew can /confirm/i.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office tells us the comedian, 44, was charged with one misdemeanor count of driving under the influence of alcohol and another misdemeanor count of driving with .08 percent blood alcohol content (BAC).
According to California law, it is illegal to drive with a BAC of .08 percent or higher if you are over 21 years old.
Haddish is due back in court on Dec. 22 for her arraignment and plea.
Pvnew has reached out to her reps for comment but did not immediately hear back.
The “Night School” star has yet to publicly address her charges, and instead has been promoting her new book, “I Curse You With Joy,” via her Instagram Stories.
Haddish also shared a post from a follower who wrote over an image of her, “Let’s lift her up … not tear her down.”
Pvnew exclusively reported earlier this month that the “Girls Trip” star’s pals were worried about her since her Nov. 24 arrest was the second time she had been taken into police custody in the past two years.
“As soon as I heard it, I said, ‘Goddamn, I’m glad she’s okay,’” a close friend previously told us.
“But it seems weird to me. You would think that someone would have a driver in that situation. This is tough because there’s nothing anybody’s gonna say to take away that this is her second offense.
The first time Haddish was arrested for a DUI was in January 2022 in Georgia, where again she was reported as dozing off while driving.
Police told Pvnew at the time that the comic’s vehicle was pulled into the yard of a local residence and officials believed she had been under the influence of marijuana.
During Haddish’s second arrest, which took place in Beverly Hills, Calif., officers witnessed the “Here Today” star’s car “stopped in lanes of traffic” and not pulled over to the side.
A Beverly Hills Police Department spokesperson previously told us that Haddish’s condition at the time of her arrest was unclear but the “investigation led [officers] to arrest her for a DUI.”
The standup comic took the stage a day after her second arrest and joked, “I prayed to God to send me a man with a job, preferably in a uniform … God answered my prayers.”
Despite the quip, Haddish later vowed to straighten up her act and “get help.”
She told “Entertainment Tonight” in November, “I’m going to get some help so I can learn balance and boundaries. This will never happen again.”
