Comedian and TikTok star Connor Wood admits to Pvnew that he was terrified someone in his family died after his phone became flooded with messages when Dua Lipa shared one of his tweets on Instagram.
The “Dance The Night” songstress recently shared a photo dump where she shared several selfies, photos of herself modeling and even a tweet from Wood where he said he thinks “all the time” about being included in one of the pop star’s photo dumps.
“I woke up thinking I had like a death in the family,” Wood exclusively tells Pvnew when recalling the slew of messages he received afterwards.
“I was like phew, no, you’re just on Dua Lipa’s Instagram! That was all time,” he says.
Wood –– who rose to fame in 2020 under the TikTok name @fibulaa with nearly 800,000 followers –– teased that he previously “manifested” the entire interaction.
“I think meeting Dua Lipa would give me powers like Spiderman. I don’t know what kind of powers, but it happened, we manifested it, so that was a little bit life changing. I started acting different,” he jokingly adds.
When asked if he messaged the “One Kiss” singer after she posted his tweet, he admits that he had already “been in her DMs.”
Wood’s online encounter has been far from the last celeb interaction he’s had since rising to fame and getting his start in the comedy world.
He spills that he most recently FaceTimed Reneé Rapp who invited him to a party in Los Angeles that he was unable to attend.
“I f––king love her,” he raves. “She’s sweeping, and I’m just like like pinching myself about how this all unfolded.”
The “Brooke & Connor Make a Podcast” co-host shares that he’s even formed friendships with “Outer Banks” co-stars Chase Stokes and Madelyn Cline, as well as Alexandra Daddario.
“It’s just like bonkers to me,” he says. “There’s a lot of stuff that’s become very, very like cavalier, and I have to act like it’s really normal. I keep getting invited back to stuff, but like it’s not, I’m like, I shouldn’t be in a room with Alexandra Daddario.”
Wood also reveals that “Summer House” star turned national touring comedian Hannah Berner was the latest star to message him about having a similar rise to fame from transitioning from viral social media clips to “selling out crazy theaters.”
Wood will soon embark on his own venture into stand-up comedy for his first ever comedy tour called “Fibs & Friends” where he’ll visit 11 cities across the country.
Fans can also expect some of his closest pals and famed friends to join him in talking about all things life, love and comedy.
“I’m beyond excited to hit the road in 2024 to meet, laugh, and make fun of all your beautiful faces. Touring has been a dream of mine since the beginning, and it feels surreal to announce my first 11 cities (with more to come!) and I’m thrilled to bring some of my funniest friends along for the ride,” he tells us.
The “Fibs & Friends” Tour will hit several cities: Seattle, Wash., Portland, Ore., San Francisco, Calif., Philadelphia, Penn., Brooklyn, NY, Phoenix, Ariz., Chicago, Ill., Nashville, Tenn., Washington, D.C., Boston, Mass., and Denver, Colo.
