Prince William and Prince Harry put their differences aside to honor their late mother, Princess Diana, at the 2023 Diana Awards Ceremony Friday.
The feuding brothers submitted separate video messages that were played at the event to present The Diana Award, which celebrates young people who are making positive changes in the world.
William, 41, appeared at the beginning of the ceremony and was introduced by former Diana Legacy Award winner Hannah Hodgson, who met him two years prior.
The Prince of Wales praised her and others for the “challenges they have overcome,” noting that “what unites them is their courage, compassion and a relentless dedication to improving the lives of others.”
“Today, we recognize the power of all young people — the power to challenge the status quo, to confront injustice and to inspire meaningful change,” he added.
Meanwhile, Harry’s clip was played toward the middle of the nearly hour-long ceremony.
“As we come together, I am reminded of the profound belief my mother held in the transformative power of young people,” the Duke of Sussex, 38, said.

“She recognized their unique ability to challenge the status quo and push for a more inclusive and compassionate society.”
He continued, “Her legacy continues to inspire and serve as an example of how to navigate the complexities of our world today. So many of the numerous challenges that we face disproportionately affect young people and, of course, their futures.”
William and Harry may share love for their late mother, but they have been on fractious terms for many years now.
The Archewell co-founder first hinted at a rift with his older brother in a 2019 interview, in which he admitted that they were on “different paths.”
The royal siblings’ tense relationship was exacerbated by the release of Harry’s controversial memoir, “Spare,” earlier this year.
The Invictus Games founder revealed in the book he had an argument with the heir to the throne that allegedly turned physical.
Harry recounted that the two fought over his wife, Meghan Markle, with William allegedly calling the “Suits” alum, 41, “rude” and “abrasive.”
The duke claimed at the time that his older brother tossed him to the floor, leaving him with nasty cuts on his back.
Harry also accused William of being jealous over his idea for the Invictus Games and claimed the father of three encouraged him to wear his infamous Nazi costume.
The brothers reportedly did not speak to each other when Harry flew to London for a whirlwind visit in May for their father King Charles III’s coronation.
